The beauty of the outdoors and nature carried me through 2023 with a sense of wonder and sanctuary; I will embrace the magic of Vancouver Island and my camera for 2024.
Wishing for all your own sanctuary, and for those who find their escape in photography, you are my people. xo

As much as I hate boring pictures taken at bus stations, after having a walk down memory lane (meaning clicking through my starred pics) I was so sad to see this tip-top machine trapped in the background on this otherwise great shot, that I decided to dig up the archives.
Thankfully I found this (rather generic) photo of the victim, posing with a crippled christmas tree.
Hopefully during my next visit I'll be luckier to take some more action packed snaps of the machinery, with the lovely hills of Borsod in the background.
A trial of old filmy style of processing, I tone downed a bit and add vignette to 3sides, and did some desaturation too....
Heading back down the Rachel Lake trail as the grey evening light wore out and the green glowed at the end of the dark path.
I usually carry multiple backs of film so I can quickly replace a used roll of film with a fresh roll.
I also like to carry multiple backs so I can change films in the middle of a roll.
I could change from black & white to color but I primarily shoot only black & white with my Mamiya RB67. I like being able to change from one film speed to another.
I use the following eight film backs with my RB67:
back #1 Ilford HP5 Plus (ISO 400)
back #2 Ilford HP5 Plus (ISO 400)
back #3 defective (use only for parts)
back #4 FomaPan (ISO 100)
back #5 FomaPan (ISO 100)
back #6 Ilford Delta Pro (ISO 3200)
back #7 Ilford Delta Pro (ISO 3200)
back #8 Ilford HP5 Plus (ISO 400)
