Bell Kingcobra NL62822 leads Mustangs G-SUSY and G-HAEC.

G-SUSY (44-72773) on the left was built in 1944 and went to the Nicaraguan Air Force around 1957 as FAN GN.120. It later became N12066, then went to Charles Church in 1987 as G-SUSY, named after his wife. Charles died in 1989 and the aircraft was bought by Paul Morgan at Sywell in 1990.

On the right is Ray Hanna's Mustang G-HAEC (44-72218). It was sold to Germany in 2011 as D-FBBD, but crashed at Duxford on 10 July 2011 after an in-flight collision with Skyraider 124143 (F-AZDP). The Skyraider landed safely after losing about 4ft from its starboard wing, and the pilot of the Mustang bailed out at low level, sustaining minor injuries.

Bell Kingcobra NL62822 was to crash at La Ferte Alais on 4 June 1990 killing its pilot John Luscombe.
