Skyraider F-AZDP with damaged wing after incident which lead to the loss of Mustang D-FBBD “Big Beautiful Doll” at the 2011 Flying Legends Air Show, Duxford.

The pilot of the Skyraider managed to land safely and the Mustang pilot was able to bail out before the aircraft crashed into a nearby field. Both pilots were, thankfully, unharmed.

A Douglas AD-4 Skyraider in US Navy colours as 124143 seen at La Ferte Alais on 2 June 1990. It was actually registered on the French Civil Register as F-AZDP. Ref: B8

Ground crew prepare to tow this Skyraider back to the hangar after the mid-air collision with P-51D Mustang D-FBBD "Big Beautiful Doll". If you look closely you can see the damage to the starboard wing.
