Taken on a very dark and rainy evening. Desaturated and Photomatix HDR Software applied to try to recreate the mood. The intent was to get near B&W, but with just a little color remaining.

For my dearest friend Ellen (who is always there, a great friend and photographer and like me loves roses) wishing her a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many happy days I sent the first rose that bloomed in my veranda this Spring - after the rain a ray of sun came to give us all hope and joy to this new season - also in your life, my friend - may it be full of light and joy(as you give us in your unique pictures). May Joy and Light follow you always and thank you for your friendship. Be happy and enjoy!

Mount Fuji on a clear day,

Mount Fuji (Fujisan) is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshipped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people.

Mount Fuji is a dormant volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days

Time Well Spent

See tiny fingers and tiny toes,

Bright baby eyes, cute baby nose;

Hear baby gurgles and baby sighs,

As Mom and Dad sing lullabies.

Life is changed, but that's okay;

It's fun to spend glad hours each day,

Taking time for all the good

That comes along with parenthood.

So...so you think you can tell

Heaven from Hell,

Blue skies from pain.

Can you tell a green field

From a cold steel rail?

A smile from a veil?

Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade

Your heros for ghosts?

Hot ashes for trees?

Hot air for a cool breeze?

Cold comfort for change?

And did you exchange

A walk on part in the war

For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.

We're just two lost souls

Swimming in a fish bowl,

Year after year,

Running over the same old ground.

What have we found?

The same old fears.

Wish you were here...

The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another

(Henry Van Dyke)

Location : Crans-Montana, Switzerland

I hope you like this. It took me 2 hrs to do in photoshop. Lots of edges on this bike. I wanted it to look like it was standing up instead of a flat photo.

that´s why i post this first photo of the year 2008 of you..beautiful horse that i met last summer..

after discovering my love for photography..i have a different view on everything..

i look at nature in a different way..now i appreciate all the things i can capture that i didn´t even pay attention to before..

once..i would have passed this beautiful horse..even slept through the ride..but because i have woken up to this wonder of photography and digital cameras..

i have this precious photo..it will always be a reminder of the beauty around me..beauty that i often pass without another look..

thank you mr. horse for making a difference in my life..

i will never know you and propably not ever find you again..but you did make my life more interesting..just by being there..

This old bridge looks to have been a packhorse bridge - it is closed to cars. It spans the river Bowmont in Northumberland - downstream of where it flows down from Yetholm and the Cheviot Hills

You just call out my name,

And you know whereever I am

Ill come running, oh yeah baby

To see you again.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall,

All you have to do is call

And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Youve got a friend.

You and I living its life

Crying our cry

And saying goodbye

With tears in our eyes

The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout.

Down came the rain, and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain,

and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
