This scene really came alive with HDR because of the high contrast. Getting composition and hiding the sun behind the tree was a challenge.
Dave Hill treatment...Another attempt in photo editing akin to Dave Hill's techniques...I was the couple's official wedding photographer recently...
Strobist info: Shot with shoot through umbrellas SB900 on the right @ 1/2 manual power and SB600 on the left @ 1/8 power and edited with Photoshop CS4.
This is shown as was taken. The Oak tree was about 1 mile off, using a telephoto lens to compress the distance.

I have been watching this wasp build her nest for about a month now. She is the most diligent of all mothers and hardly moves away from her brood. She is beginning to close up some of the cavities now. Her eyes never falter from me when I photograph her which is at a distance of about 2 cm. She seems to trust me. When my dog Hugo walked on the deck below me she glanced down at him. She has not once attempted to repel me in any way.
