looking through a tree at the sun that was setting over the hill beside Morven.

A thorn defends the rose, harming only those who would steal the blossom

~~Chinese Proverb

A tree against the sky possesses the same interest, the same character, the same expression as the figure of a human.

Allen (asparks06) and I were photographing Red-breasted Nuthatches when a couple of Cardinals dropped in to feed. I had a little too much lens for this one but was pleased with the portrait angle.

I wanted to see something that's different, something you said would change in me.

Wanted to be, anything different, everything you would change in me.

I'm taking a chance, this could be different.

This could be all I'm waiting for.

Of Power lines and Sunsets...It has been raining almost every evenings and had stopped briefly when this shot was taken. What a pleasant surprise too that the sky suddenly opens up with a burst of the evening sun. Have a great week ahead everyone...Cheers, Ringgo.

Sikh pioneers in Sarawak... In 1857, the Chinese uprising started in the gold mining town of Bau, which is about 20 miles (about 33 kilometres) from the town of Kuching. Sir James Brooke, the first white Rajah of Sarawak, fled to Singapore where he took refuge with the Governor of the Straits Settlements. He subsequently recruited personnel for the Sarawak Police Force in Singapore.' The first batch of 13 Sikhs led by Dewa Singh Akhara, were brought to Kuching.

These Sikhs played an important role in bringing peace, law and order to this area. Sikhs who came later were employed as prison wardens by the Government and as security personnel by the Sarawak Shell Company in Miri.

This is one of a few first photos I took with my new Nikkor 105 2.8 VR lens. I had 7 minutes, so I quickly drove to a place I knew had some flowers and whipped out my camera. It was quite windy but I just clicked away. The only photoshopping on this was to remove a tiny white spot a the front petal. Other than that, it is what it is. I was blown away by the sharpness of this lens. I love it already

A piece of my daughter's Farm.

An invitation I couldn't resist...This are my captures for a day activities in and around the Giam Village river safari, jungle trekking and caving...all in a day...Boy it was fun and at the same time I am helping the villagers in promoting their tourism package...Apart from being blessed with exquisite natural surroundings, the Village is offering their hospitality to visitors who might want to come and stay at the village Homestay homes.

Here, I wish to share with my fickr firends our simple yet peace loving people of Malaysian Borneo side...Enjoy...
