Have you been to the Top of the World in Bay Lake Tower?
This one evening I somehow sneaked (I thought it was snuck) into an elevator bound for the top floor of the Bay Lake Tower. I wasn't complaining because that's exactly where I wanted to go, but I wasn't a vacation club member. A lady came in and pressed her magic band to the panel and off we went. I got off and watched the...

So I was just sitting at work bored out of my mind, contemplating my shot for today and dodging phone calls from angry parents, while trying to ignore the screaming children when I peaked out the window and saw some amazing clouds setting up for the sunset... I found my coworker, explained the situation, and took a 20 minute break down at Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo... Lets just say this beats the pants off work =)
I just hope I wasn't the only one that caught these amazing clouds!!
Do you "Fall" in love with the Magic Kingdom Decorations?
Once again I was kicked out of the Magic Kingdom. Security was tight after the park had been extended an hour. I didn't want the extension. It meant that I would be leaving the park later than expected and that most people wouldn't be as nice as they usually are at the end of the night for photographers with tripods. Although, the plus side meant that no one else would be lingering in my shots...

Do you think those are ghosts?
One great morning I was in the Magic Kingdom before the park opened to guests and I was taking photos. I ventured over to Mansion and found a Cast Member Tour going on. I followed them for a bit, but had to keep going to get photos of the hardest place in the queue to photograph, the foyer. There is so much throughput here that is is almost impossible to get it with the doors closed or without any guests at all, not to mention the...

Are you sad to see Halloween leave already for Christmas?
I decided to use this photo over others because I feel the Halloween wasn't here long enough. As I was getting pushed out of Magic Kingdom, I stopped to get this one last shot It was already after midnight and the park was supposed to close two hours before that, but got extended and then we were taking pictures until an hour after that. I'm sad to see Halloween go, even though I'm really...

This is Edvard Anderson's Greenhouse, located in the Bergius Botanical Garden across from my university. The garden has its roots (pun intended) in the 1700s, but moved to its present location in 1885. As for the particular greenhouse, it was built in 1995 and named after a merchant donor from the 1930s.
I visited the garden on an earlier occasion, and the greenhouse was lit up beautifully from the inside. This would make for an awesome HDR, yes? So I came back and waited as the sun went down... only to find the lights being turned off! That, in turn, turned me off, and I started to walk away. For some reason I looked over my shoulder after walking maybe a 100 ft, and saw these other lights had been activated. So I went back again and got maybe five or six shots before they were suddenly turned off...!
I'm usually in luck with these things, but not this time. It was tired and frustrated, but I guess I did get a photo or two anyway.
I found this great old fence post just riding in the country...one of the advantages of not living in the big city!! Weathered wood, rusty barbed wire, and beautiful green pasture land...awesome HDR photography!!
Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

Have you seen the Lights on the Castle yet?
I ventured over to Magic Kingdom to take pictures of the lights that have made it onto to castle for the Holiday Season. I'm so excited and they look great! The castle is so majestic and it has easily put me in the mood for Christmas. I can't wait to take more shots from different angles and share them with you all. Plus, there are so many things that are decorated from the parks to the...

Been here a few times never happy due to the light and sky until today worth the £6 entrance fee as the gardens and flowers looked amazing.Think my job is done at this amazing location ;-)
An ancient site dating back to the 7th century was originally owned by the church but later acquired by the Button family in the 16th century. The name was changed to Dyffryn St. Thomas when the estate was sold to Thomas Pryce, who built the first building to be known as Dyffryn House. John Cory bought the estate in 1891 and built the present house two years later. He later commissioned Thomas Mawson to landscape the gardens to complement his magnificent house. After John Cory's death in 1910, his third son, Reginald, a keen horticulturalist and leading figure in the RHS, developed the gardens and arboretum notably through his joint sponsorship of several plant hunting expeditions. The most remarkable of the results of this is the Paper Bark Maple, Acer griseum, which was grown from seed brought back from China by Ernest Wilson.
After Reginald Cory's death in 1934, the estate went to his daughter Florence who died just two years later. It was then bought by Sir Cennydd Traherne who leased it in 1939 to Glamorgan County Council on a 999 year lease. The Grade I listed gardens are being restored in two phases with grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The first phase is for £3.25 million and the second for £2.9 million.
Which Tree is better: Magic Kingdom vs Disneyland?
Oh the lack of sleep I get while trying to get just the right photo. It is a sacrifice for all of you that I get up at 2:30 am to go to the parks and resorts to take these photos. I'm not complaining! I actually love this. I just want you to know that I do not just get what life gives me, I take more. I really enjoy what I do and I hope what I am doing is worth your time and brings you joy like I get from doing it. This is my gift to you this wonderful season...

What do you think of the FastPass ONLY line?
I recently spoke with a cast member of Toy Story Midway Mania in Hollywood Studios about Disney's test run of the FastPass Only line. He said it was great. Well, great to have a manageable line, but not so great with the guests who didn't have FastPass and wanted to rip his head off. I'm sure many people were furious with the idea. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I liked the old system where you...

Margam Castle is a large Victorian era country house, built in Margam, Port Talbot, Wales, for Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot (1803–1890). It was constructed over a ten-year period, from 1830 to 1840, on a site which had been occupied for some 4,000 years and which from the 11th century until the dissolution of the monasteries was an abbey.
Although called a "castle", the building is really a large comfortable country house, one of many "mock" castles built in the 19th century during the Gothic Revival.
After making a Grand Tour of Europe as a young man, Talbot returned to south Wales and from 1830 he set about redeveloping the family estate at Margam. The new castle was designed in a Tudor Gothic style by the architect Thomas Hopper (1776–1856), while Edward Haycock Snr (1790–1870) was supervisory architect and designed parts of the interior and exterior of the house, the stables, terraces and lodges. Talbot also took a keen interest in the project, encouraging his architects to borrow elements from Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire (ancestral home of the Talbots and home to his cousin William Henry Fox Talbot) and Melbury House in Dorset (home of his mother's family, the Fox-Strangeways, Earls of Ilchester).
William Henry Fox Talbot was a frequent visitor to Margam, and the castle featured as an image in some of his early photographic experiments. Margam's links with photography also include being the location of the earliest known Welsh photograph, a daguerreotype of the castle taken on 9 March 1841 by the Reverend Calvert Richard Jones.
After the death of Emily Charlotte Talbot, the daughter of its first owner, the castle passed to her nephew and continued to be used by the Talbot family until 1941, when it was sold. David Evans-Bevan, who bought it, found it too large to live in, but could not find any public organisation interested in taking it on, and it fell into disrepair. For many years it belonged to the local authority, but was not open to the public. In 1977, a fire caused substantial damage, and it was only after this that a restoration project began in earnest.
Today Margam Castle is a Grade I listed building and is in the care of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.
Margam Castle was visited by the television programme Most Haunted in its 2006 series and also by SyFy's Ghost Hunters International in 2010. It has become a very popular venue for paranormal investigation events groups. In 2013 the Margam Ghost Walk (which seeks to explain the stories of the reputed hauntings but which does not undertake paranormal investigation) became the most popular attraction in the Neath Port Talbot authority area, according to the review website Tripadvisor.
What was your first Attraction?
Having lived in the West for most of my life and frequently traveling to or though Southern Utah and areas much like it, places like Big Thunder Mountain do not feel too far from reality. What does catch me off guard here in the early morning is hearing the trains go by and not one scream can be heard. Empty trains being run as they get ready...

How early do you like to go to the parks?
When I go to the parks to take photos, it's usually very early in the morning or late at night. When I go to the parks on my days off, I go when I feel like it. Then there are the times when I was on vacation. I would wake up super early and try to get as much done in one day as possible. I would never claim to say it was the most...

You've gotta see the Large On Black.
So yesterday (1/12/08) I saw the sunset coming back from my Great Uncle's house in the middle of nowhere and virtually forced my father into stopping the car on the side of the road. This is what I got from that little endevour. I'd say it's worth it.
This is a 5 shot HDR merged in Photoshop, tonemapped in Photomatix 2.3.3 and finalized in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Do you know the story behind this bus/food cart?
I have seen people take photos of this amazing bus/food cart before, but never been able to capture the full beauty of the colors displayed. The blue stands out so much against the green backdrop. I can't say I've ever bought anything from this stand, but it is amazing. People walk by this every day and appreciate this wonderful piece of work, but do they no the story behind it and why it is there in Asia? I...

While walking around Animal Kingdom the other night I came across this amazing spot to see the Tree Of Life, the icon of the park. It's quite majestic in it position and how it towers over everything. The river here reflected the tree so well I couldn't help but whip out my tripod and hold here for a while to get a shot of it. It's almost as though the water were a mirror or even that there was no water at all but rather another tree growing below the one we see. Animal kingdom has so many of these...

What do you love about the Walt Disney World version of the Haunted Mansion?
Welcome Foolish Mortals!I've said this one before, but out of all of the comparison attractions between Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the Haunted Mansion wins with everything except one simple thing. The building itself, I like the simplistic Disneyland version. This one here in Florida is over top better. It never goes to the Holiday overlay and there are even more...
