The Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago (Spanish: Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago) is the seat of the Archbishop of Santiago de Chile, currently Celestino Aós Braco, and the center of the archdiocese of Santiago de Chile. Construction of the neoclassical cathedral began in 1748 and ended in 1800. Further alterations ordered at the end of the 19th century give it its present appearance.Previous cathedrals in the archdiocese had been destroyed by earthquakes.
The cathedral, located in the city's historic center, faces Santiago's Plaza de Armas and stands near the Palacio Arzobispal de Santiago, the administrative center for the archdiocese. The cathedral is also close to the Parroquia El Sagrario, a Catholic temple and a Chilean national monument.

The other morning I walked into the Magic Kingdom before guests were allowed to enter the gates and stood behind the castle waiting for the sun to rise. It was an amazing feeling to be standing here in the quiet of the morning. I set up my tripod and actually sat there for almost an hour waiting for the sun to climb high enough to touch the spires. The talented (x1000000) Neil Kremer posted an image of this staircase a couple days back www.flickr.com/photos/63205119@N04/6232443415/in/photostream. He was wondering....what the hell it was used for.. my best guess is this was for beach access. His awesome HDR got me excited to get up for sunrise and give a B&W a go this morning. With a bit of free time and a nice tutorial from a Nik Software rep at the California Photo Festival for Color Efex I processed this with a ton of contrast...and think I finally found out how the Midnight filter can be useful.
Another dark image in this series but I couldn't imagine a bright B&W for this grungy subject.

Jamali was a pen name for poet, traveller and Sufi Shiekh Fuzlullah. He was also known as Jalal Khan. Jamali was a famous city poet for Lodi as well as Mughal Empire. Jamali was introduced to Sufism by Shiekh Samauddin.
The Mosque was built by Maulana Jamali for preaching as well as provide 'serai' - Shelter to the weary travelers. The Mosque also had an elevated balcony for hanging a lamp as an indicator for travelers. The Mosque was built in 1528
The tomb of Maulana Jamali lies to the North of the Mosque. The tomb was built in 1529, while the Maulana was still alive. This complex was used by the Maulana as his Hospice, where he lived and preached.
When he died in 1536, the Maulana was buried in the main chamber. The cieling of the main chamber was decorated with his poems as inscriptions.
Kamali, an ardent follower of Maulana Jamali was buried in the pillared Cenotaph tomb in the complex
Hence it is also known as Jamali Kamali Mosque.

The second one from my trip on sunday.
It took me around 6 tries to get this shot and a long time of photoshopping to convince myself of turning this into monochrome. I prefer colored works most of the times but this time the B/W showed exactly what I wanted to show.
The water made an awesome HDR but the whole images hadnt had any real good effect in color.
This version is much better IMO and it gives a nice, calm effect that I really dig.

In my attempt to make Disney World Glow, I give you this... Rockin' Rollercoaster Glowing! I love this ride. Especially since this is the only ride in all of Walt Disney World that will send you upside down. "I like that idea!" I'm all for the exciting and adventurous rides. I do like me some classic dark rides, but when I need to get some thrill on, Hollywood Studios houses two of the best. I'm getting to love that park more and more. This particular CM was the sweetest thing ever...she knew what I was trying to do and kept very still while my bracket cooked off...and then asked me if I wanted another pose! Awesome...

I went out to the beach today with my Nikon D3s, three lens and tripod (which I lost somewhere on the beach, by the way, when I threw it down quickly to change lens and capture the sun coming over the horizon). With all that equipment, the best shot I took came from my i-phone. I thought oh, let me just take a picture with my phone so I can post it on instagram. And bam, I was amazed. I took it in HDR. Whatever that means using a phone camera and just hit the brightness button in Instagram. Hmmm...

Not the Abby, no cameras allowed in there :( I'm trying out the Topaz adjust plugin for Photoshop and quite like its features particularly the noise reduction :)

The "Seebruecke" on Ruegen is the landmark of the Island. If you buy a photo book of Germany, pretty likely you will find a picture of this impressive construction.
Side story: This place, is the first time that I was completely disappointed, when I was there (if you wanna see a nice eastern sea town, go to Binz) and surprised how beautiful it is, when I looked afterward on my photos. Wired!? It seems my camera sees something different than me!?

The Longhua Temple is a Buddhist temple dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha located in Shanghai. Although most of the present-day buildings date from later reconstructions, the temple preserves the architectural design of a Song dynasty monastery of the Chan School.

Lost place close to Worms (NRW), Germany. Took an HDR of a boat I suddenly found and it turned out really well. The boat and all metal parts around are really rotten, so probably more than 50 years or longer been there.
