We live in an era when it is more important than ever to be aware of our surroundings when in public.
For birds like this hawk, they live or die because of either following or ignoring that principle...even in early mornings.

I very much enjoyed watching this individual from a distance.
It did look at me from time to time but mostly was tracking a cheeky Robin

Drifting between awareness and a dream, she clings to a fragile link—imperfect, outdated, yet still present—reflecting a suppressed need to stay connected, even as she retreats into her own subconscious realm.

As virtually everyone knows, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Yahoo! For Good has offered to donate €1 for each pink photo added to www.flickr.com/groups/pink2008 (up to a maximum of €30,000) to help fund breast cancer research. It would be good if as many people as possible helped in a small way by joining the group. You can post up to five pink photos daily during October.
I chose a camellia for my first contribution because, to me, it is such a feminine and hauntingly beautiful flower - and, like a woman, vulnerable to bruising.
This is the poster for the trans awareness film that I acted in in 2019. Just look at all the laurels; we won a fair few awards and this girl got two nominations for best actress!

'Mind your health'
Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May by reaching millions of people in the United States through the media, local events, and screenings.(copy and paste bit done)
This is now a Global campaign and awareness is indeed needed.
My thoughts after the last year or so we have had that helped no one through anxiety or other mental health issues was to give a moment to try and create an image that was my representation of the awareness campaign in lightpainting.
The translation of the shot will be different for everyone but the message is the same!

"Mono no aware" is a translation from Japanese, which generally means the transience of things and the sorrow felt at there passing. The fleeting moments, when something ephemeral affects us beyond the purely superficial. I have this feeling often when I explore the urban environment.
Being breast aware
Whatever your age, size or shape it’s important to take care of your breasts. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, so it’s important to look after your breasts by being breast aware.
Being breast aware is an important part of caring for your body. It means getting to know how your breasts look and feel, so you know what is normal for you. You can then feel more confident about noticing any unusual changes.
How do I check my breasts?
There’s no right or wrong way to check your breasts. Try to get used to looking at and feeling your breasts regularly. You can do this in the bath or shower, when you use body lotion, or when you get dressed. There’s really no need to change your everyday routine. Just decide what you are comfortable with and what suits you best.
Remember to check all parts of your breast, your armpits and up to your collarbone.
It started in 2009 when a medical glove manufacturer, Medline, produced the original pink glove video to raise breast cancer awareness. The video has since generated more 13 million views on YouTube and inspired countless pink glove dance videos and events around the world. The response to the original video from the healthcare community, survivors and family members of survivors was overwhelming and heartwarming. I want to share this wonderful video with you.

Sands is the UK’s Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity, an organisation which offers support to everyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or after birth.
Some cold, hard facts:
• 17 babies die every day in the UK (10 are stillbirths, 7 are neonatal deaths) totalling almost 6,500 baby deaths a year - the equivalent of 16 jumbo jets crashing every year with no survivors
• This is double the number of adults who lose their lives on Britain’s roads every year
• Ten times more babies are stillborn than die of cot death every year in the UK.
• The stillbirth rate has remained almost unchanged for the past 10 years. (CEMACH)
• In half of all stillbirths the cause remains unexplained, although in more than half of these pregnancies the baby is smaller than it should be
• Many of these babies are born perfectly formed, with no clear reason why they died. We need to understand what is causing these deaths and take action to prevent avoidable losses
• The majority of unexplained stillbirths are in pregnancies that were previously considered low risk
Sands’ core aims are to:
• Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;
• To work in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families; and
• To promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives
The death of a baby can happen to any one regardless of health, wealth or fertility so for all those who have been touched by the death of a child much love x

October 15th is the International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, a global expression of sympathy, remembrance and support for those too many families who are affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy or beyond.
Across the world, at 7pm local time, candles will be lit for those babies who have died. At this time we will remember them all; either our own children or babies of others who have nonetheless touched our lives in such a brief time.
In the UK, Babyloss is a collaborative awareness effort involving charities and voluntary organisations which support those affected, and lobby for research and action to understand more about and, where possible, prevent pregnancy loss.
You don't have to have been affected by loss yourself to help; though sadly the numbers of families affected makes it unlikely that there in no-one in your circle that has not suffered in this way.
You can help in so many ways:
* If you know someone grieving for their child - drop them a line today. Give them a hug. Show them you remember their loss and that you are there to share their memories and sadness. Too many families feel locked in silence, afraid to start a conversation, afraid to upset others, and alone in their grief.
* Click on the site www.babyloss.com, and find out more about the organisations who support those in need. Could you volunteer? Could you raise money or awareness for these causes?
* Even quietly finding out more and being able to pay that understanding and support forward if you encounter a person in need in the future is invaluable. Sometimes the biggest change is in thought, not just in deed.
With this shot I am marking the day, and I welcome you to share in marking it.
“Feelings don't try to kill you, even the painful ones. Anxiety is a feeling grown too large. A feeling grown aggressive and dangerous. You're responsible for its consequences, you're responsible for treating it. But...you're not responsible for causing it. You're not morally at fault for it. No more than you would be for a tumor.”
― Patrick Ness, The Rest of Us Just Live Here
“I lied and said I was busy.
I was busy;
but not in a way most people understand.
I was busy taking deeper breaths.
I was busy silencing irrational thoughts.
I was busy calming a racing heart.
I was busy telling myself I am okay.
Sometimes, this is my busy -
and I will not apologize for it.”
― Brittin Oakman

"This week is Deaf Awareness week. In the UK there are almost 9 million deaf and hard of hearing adults of which nearly 7 million are severely or profoundly deaf.
1 in 1000 children are deaf at the age of 3 and currently there are around 20,000 children who are moderately to profoundly deaf covering the ages of 0-15 years old. Only 12,000 of these children were born deaf.
It is important to raise awareness, never underestimate how being Deaf can affect somebody's life. Just learning the alphabet in sign language, or learning how to speak clearly, facing the person you are speaking to, can make a huge difference. Being patient, innovative and calm also helps.
The NDCS have announced that the theme for this year's Deaf Awareness week is "Look at Me".
"This theme aims to improve understanding of deafness by highlighting the range methods of communication methods used by deaf children, such as sign language and lip reading."
The RNID provide a completely confidential "Check your hearing" test. Give it a go, it may be the best thing you did. See www.rnid.org.uk/howwehelp/hearing_check/take_online_heari...
For more information about what you can do to help Deaf people, or where to go if you're worried about your hearing, see the following links:
So, why this photo? Because Evelyn Glennie is an inspirational person and a world renowned percussionist who also happens to be deaf. Click on the link below to read her wonderful essay on hearing.
