1959 Rambler
1959 was THE apex year for tailfins. Virtually all American cars had them. This was a time when automobile designs were unabashedly ostentatious and proudly unique. Thus (it stands to reason) even the humble Rambler would get in on the act.

Panhard series 1 of 14
Panhard-Levassor a French made automobile. This 2.8 liter 1939 model put out 75 horsepower. Some models were available with the steering wheel centrally located inside the vehicle to accommodate countries that drove either on the left side or right side of the road. Top speed peaked at about 81 mph.
© David K. Edwards. Exterior is a U. S. 1953 Chevrolet, but this is a Cuban vehicle. Under the hood might lurk a Peugeot diesel engine, a BMW straight six, some costly Mercedes variant, or just about anything imaginable. Ditto for the running gear. Cuban automobile mechanics are amazing, inventive, and utterly unafraid.
