After a week away in the Aussie outback on the way home I ran into a magazine shoot of some Aussie muscle cars and couldn't help myself but get some shots as well. - Little Hartley, Australia

The strong colours of the large long-tailed male Australian King Parrot, Alisterus scapularis, are always a special sight along Australia's eastern coast from Queensland's far north to the bottom of Victoria.

This was one of two pairs seen while visiting friends' rural property which backs onto the Mt Hypipamee National Park in far north Queensland.
