Anika is an atomic refugee, lives in Sado Island, Japan. She was evicted together with parents from Fukushima to Sado. As still there is atomic radiation and have possibility of effects, she can not back. She received 6 years' graduation (卒園式 Sotuensiki ) from Kanie kindergarten ( hoikuen). From April she will enter junior high school in Sado.
When I was a little kid, my mom got me the Art of Walt Disney coffee table book. Not sure why really. I wasn't a huge Disney fan, but I fell in love with the book and I have to say that it influenced me deeply, as it did generations of Asian kids (thus manga), as well as kids all over the world.
I guess Disney has lost a lot of it's early charm for people but this book is a CLASSIC. And now with Pixar.

Another scan of the previous pic. This time colors are more in the ball park but its still too contrasty and the glowiness of the greens still make it look like it was lit from below. The other big problem is the shot has a very shallow depth of field and the blurry parts came out extremely grainy and created the blue band at the top between the green treeline and the white skyline. Digital GEM smoothed it out but the bokeh is still pretty terrible. Fuji CN-2 film. Kodak processing. Guessing it was taken around 1988.
