“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, --->"Sunsets to warm your heart"<---, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”

Also known as Hiroshima Peace memorial, this is one of the few buildings surviving the atomic blast. Standing 160m from the hypocenter it was destroyed in seconds.
Stands there to remind the world of the terrible consequences of atomic bombing.

The atomic cannon was built by the United States in the mid-1950s to hurl nuclear shells far enough that they wouldn't kill the people who fired them. The first atomic cannon went into service in 1952, and was deactivated in 1963. A single 280mm shell was fired seven miles at the Nevada Test site on May 25, 1953. Twenty Atomic Cannon were manufactured; at least 8 appear to have survived the Cold War and are on public display today. The largest atomic cannon sits atop a hill overlooking Fort Riley, Kansas.

At the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History, Albuquerque, New Mexico. This museum also covers nuclear theory, uranium mining, powerplants, and such peaceful pursuits, but I am more interested in things that blow up!

With the sun bursting its way through the early morning mist, it created quite a spread of light as it breached the horizon. The light spread along the horizon for a very brief few minutes before being swallowed by the hazy low cloud. It was quite a spectacle which my pics dont come anyway near doing justice, but I guess they will do to act as a reminder of how it was :~)
Had the worst case of condensation on my filter that I have experienced since I started shooting sunrises. I was just managing to get 3 bracketed exposures off before having to wipe the filter clean again. Between all the wiping, I must have knocked the cameras position on the tripod, so this is a little bit tight at the top of the frame. Another lesson learned, always double check your framing :~)
