Fellow flickrite steve_cx plays guitar in "The Atomic Rays". Here they are in action at the Cat & Wheel on Cheltenham Road in Bristol on Friday night. Poor light and a crush of people dancing at the front made photography tricky, but the music made up for that.

The Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall stands 160 meters from the hypocenter of the atomic bomb explosion over Hiroshima. It was left as a reminder of that day.

From Wikipedia: The Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, the closest surviving building to the location of the bomb's detonation, was designated the Genbaku Dome (原爆ドーム) or "Atomic Dome", a part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.

About Atomic Bomb Dom:

At 8:15am August 6th 1945,an American B29 bomber dropped an Atomic bom ,the first atomic bombing in human history.The bomb exploded approximately 600 kilometers above and 160m to the southenest of the Hiroshima prefectural industrial promotion hall

The building was crushed and gutted by fire.Everyone in the building were died immediately.

However , the blast came from almost directly above,some of the walls of this building remained standing leaving enough of the building and iron structure of this building at the top to be recognize as Dom.

After the war,the badly damaged skeltal remained of the Hiroshima prefectural industrial promotion hall came to be known as the A-bomb dom.
