The black column marks the location where the atomic bomb exploded on August 9, 1945. Note the concentric circles eminating from the hypocentre, representing the shockwaves of the explosion.

Soldiers who were selected to sit in a trench and wait for an atomic blast and then advance towards the crater as quick as possible. Studies were conducted to see how men on the battlefield would react mentally to an atomic blast. This is my first attempt at forced perspective

I've seen lots of atomic starburst dinnerware patterns, but this one is by far the coolest! No maker's mark on the saucer though, and there were no matching pieces at the thrift shop. Any of you good vintage atomic fans have info?
(Sorry it's so dark...I had a hard time capturing the starbursts with or without the flash.)

Genbaku Dome (原爆ドーム)
8:15am, August 6, 1945, when the atomic bomb was dropped and wiped out the whole city. Was speechless and felt terror when standing in front of this Dome.

I believes a kind of collaboration of these process.
I says "TREE from PAPER": I use the material from 100% recycling papers non-toxic ink and made in Los Angeles CA, USA.
You know the papers are made from trees: I stats these recycling papers are way back to trees again as Atomic Bonsai.
Well, I just let you know this story of Atomi Bonsai (Bonzai) kits.
It comes in an autographed by Joji Okazaki 岡崎 丈二.
Constructed bonsai size is approximately 7"H x 7"L x 7"W.
How to assemble Atomic Bonsai kit?
I was searching for this rare pair of Oakleys, and found them on my honeymoon in Hawaii. Since the frames look like lava, I figured it was time to buy! A good souvenir from the trip.
I customized the frames with red icon logos, red earsocks, and Oakley's wonderful +Red lens. They look totally wacky, and I love them.
Strobist info:
I mixed a lot of ambient with a little flash. sb600 through an umbrella, camera right, for fill only (down at 1/25th or so). The soft ambient light is coming from a window behind the sunglasses, with the shades drawn.
Now, as for the cool line running through the center of the lenses (that provides the neat separation between top and bottom) ... that is a little trickier.
See, the lenses reflect just about anything you throw their way, which can be bad. For that cool line, I had a sheet of regular printer paper sitting right in front of the glasses. The paper was actually visible in the shot. So I took a second shot WITHOUT the paper, and then blended the two in post.

This memorial was built to remember what was going on during the Cold War era at the Semipalatinsk nuclear weapon testing site.
I remember that time very well. All china and glasses in buffet cabinets would start jingle like crazy, and you could feel the whole house tremble for a minute or so..
No kidding, - that was the 'then Kazakhstan' - well before Borat has opened this country to the West :)

It only took four months but I finally cleaned these up and clearcoated them (we won't use them for food).
Solid copper with brass handles.
Cleaning copper is easy if you mix lemon juice with salt and just rub with paper towels or a cloth - no expensive polishes needed!
We visited the Atomic Testing Museum wich is in the Frank H. Rogers Science and Technology Building, Las Vegas Nevada. This is the only area where photography is permitted - it is an extensive museum, primarily devoted to Nevada National Security Site (also known as Nevada Test Site).
"Between 1951 and 1992, there were a total of 928 announced nuclear tests at Nevada Test Site. Of those, 828 were underground."
(While this museum is affiliated with the Smithsonian - and presumably the US government, photography was permitted in only a very limited area, I would guess for security and also publicity reasons.) It seems tho me that that such a museum should be open access - but it's not.
