Astrophytum asterias

(Can't read the label ... possibly 'Niveum')

This was part of the private collection of cacti and succulents at Manor Nursery, Angmering, West Sussex. The collection was started in 1948. The nursery is now gone. The collection has been dispersed to various new locations.

Astrophytum is a genus of six species of cacti, native to North America.

These species are sometimes referred to as living rocks, though the term is also used for other genera, particularly Lithops (Aizoaceae). The generic name is derived from the Greek words άστρον (astron), meaning "star," and φυτόν (phyton), meaning "plant."

Astrophytum myriostygma is another endemic plant from mexico, is one of the most cultivated endangered cactus species from mexico, it has many japaneese cultivars.
