This photo won first place in the people category at the Old World Wisconsin Photo Contest in 2005. I think this in an impressive photo as it captures the main rider in perfect focus and the second rider as well as the background are out of focus. This composition in the picture helps to draw attention to the main rider in the picture. There are no distractions in the background. The size fits the frame perfectly and the true color is captured in the photo. The only thing I find that could have made the photo slightly better is if the photographer captured the full horse in the photo and did not cut of the bottoms of the legs.

Homework Assignment

Take a picture of the usual and make it unusual. I chose to take a pic of this candle holder, the 1st pic was of just the candle in landscape, next pic included the reflection on the table and the final picture included the reflection of the candle behind in the window. I think it made for an interesting picture.

A bit too vague, but I like this one because of the colors and the mood.

I had some good light, but did not focus in enough on the flowers to crop out the background. (my daughters hopscotch rug!).

For a school assignment we were told to take pictures useing the macro setting.. out of all my pictures this was my favourite by miles. This kangaroo was caught outside on a cold, wet and foggy day!
