Decided to go through last fall's image files and found this aspen grove detail that I'd missed before. Note the bear claw marks on the center-left tree. Click image to view larger and on black.
I am documenting progression of autumnal foliage along Ohio Creek, northwest of Gunnison, Colorado. This is how it looked at the upper end of the valley last week. Two days ago a storm gave early snowfall to the higher elevations. I will return to this spot Saturday. It will be my third visit in a month. I hope to find snow-covered peaks and remnants of colorful aspen foliage.

One of my favorite places for Aspens is Sylvan Lake S.P. The leaves were still pretty green, just starting to turn, but it was a perfect Colorado fall day, sunny and warm.

Cottonwoods and aspens at their peak, along one of the most scenic drives in Colorado. The distant mountain just to the right of center (the one that looks like a shark's tooth) is Precipice Peak.
These were taken with the Sony Nex 5 on a black & white setting which also captures any yellow in the image.

I thought these trees were beautiful, and of course I loved the name :p. There are many of them up in the flagstaff area. They flourish in forests after forest fires, and when the forests start to grow back in they die because they struggle to survive in the shade. I just thought there white bark was so pretty as we were driving past.

This is what I wore on Friday. I wasn't really sure what I was going to wear until I filped threw the March issue of Nylon Mag and stumbled upon their spread, "The Farmer's Daughter" and instantly knew I wanted to wear this!

Do you ever wonder where a road goes? I always wonder what is around the bend, or where does the road lead to. This 2 track actually led to a really nice campsite.
Rabbit Brush in full bloom with Aspen Trees in the background just starting to get their fall colors. Looking north -- near the Great Western Train Head."
Named after the road, this ranch not only has a memorable name, but some of the most gorgeous scenery in Colorado.
To find this place take Colorado 62 west out of Ridgeway about 20 miles to Last Dollar Road. It's the backway to Telluride.
Enjoy, but remember to keep your eyes on the road, if you can!
