When the guys showed up early for Movie Night, Stormtrooper Bruce asked if they'd be willing to help him decorate his quarters again. It's a yearly tradition so of course they said yes.

It was really fun (and probably too much effort) to try to build a robot that basically would collapse down into a sphere at this scale.

Sure I could have built a huge one that was more accurate ... but what's the fun in that?

CasaSugar had the chance to ask designer Jeremy Conway a few questions about the place. The most interesting was learning that her plum and cream print rug was a Marni design from The Rug Company - isn't it gorgeous? The designer said the paint was a custom shade, but that it was very similar to Benjamin Moore's Electric Blue.

A similar piece at the Chicago Tribune gives away a few more secrets - according to set decorator Lydia Marks, "The settees were custom-made and upholstered in Silk Trading Co.'s Amanda Lee linen. The one-of-a-kind mirrored coffee table came from New York's ABC Carpet & Home, and was topped with smoked glass."

This is my latest LEGO Art commission. It ships out today to beautiful Sunny from California.

Avid followers probably recognise it. I had made a Bat Music Box a while back, and that's exactly what Sunny asked for. The original though had been broken down, and there were a few changes needed as well.

This version is a lot more solid, and it includes a much larger area to store jewelry in the top.

It is also a fully functional Music Box. You can turn the handle at the side and it will play music whilst the figure spins. The mechanism that allows that got a big upgrade. It's important the mechanism only spins one way. because if you spun the handle the wrong way it could damage the music box inside. Instead of limiting how you can turn the handle, the current version instead lets you turn the handle either way, but always results in the mechanism inside turning the same way. Yeah, it was a pretty cool technical challenge, and I'll share the specifics in a video soon.

I am now joint organiser for a Kentish walking group of some 250 members. I have been asked to organise a walk of about 5 miles. I like to include some background and interest in the walk so after deliberation I decided to do a "Southcliffe Route" Many films and TV series have included Faversham's wonderful settings, town centre and landscaped of the North Kent Marshes that played such a large part in the feel of this well critically acclaimed drama.

Southcliffe is a British drama series that aired on Channel 4. Set in a fictional town on the North Kent Marshes tells the story of a series of shootings by a local man portrayed by Sean Harris, the cause of the shootings and the effects on the town and residents. The series explores tragedy, grief, responsibility and redemption as seen through the eyes of a journalist returning to the small town of his childhood to cover the story (Rory Kinnear)

Filming began in October 2012 in Faversham, on an eight-week shooting schedule and took place at various locations in and around Faversham, including local homes, town centre streets, the Faversham Creek, Hollowshore pub, The Shipwright's Arms, Faversham Recreation Ground, The Market Inn, Oare Marshes, Uplees Cottage.

The critical response to the first two episodes was mostly positive. Benji Wilson of The Daily Telegraph thought that with "its muted palette, protracted silences, dank fogs and seething unease, Southcliffe was anything but nice-cup-of-tea and a sit-down TV, but it was a mesmerising tragedy, Arifa Akbar of The Independent noted "its disturbing silences" and called it "a rare and brilliant Sunday-night viewing", while Paul Whitelaw of The Scotsman considered Southcliffe to be "a major work, and quite easily the best British TV drama of the year so far." The sentiment was shared by Euan Ferguson of The Observer, who called it "the TV event of the year." Sam Wollaston of The Guardian thought that the drama series was a masterly study of a tragedy in smalltown England, one that "felt – and looked, and sounded – so utterly and terribly real", and that it was a "profound, chilling, moving piece of television".

If you could see my darkness by Thomas Oscar Miles

Recently, I heard a couple of people close to me ask why I was so dark? And if I was ok because my work reflected a sad-er existence, as opposed to my naturally brighter personality. This got me wondering about why exactly I do choose to create darker works, and if that reflects a part of myself.

-

I have always found photography is my sweet escape from only seeing the world in bright, happy colours. I feel the freedom to play with darker concepts, some of which are a deeper part of me, some being expressions of a fictional ideology. 💜

-

So if I were to be asked why I create such dark imagery again, I would feel more confident in answering, I would say:

1) Because there is beauty in darkness, truly.

2) Everybody has a sense of sadness that forms itself as a darkness, we can all feel connected in that.

3) Life isn't always bright, and it's important to openly talk about our sadness.

4) Because I can explore concepts that mean something to me (and hopefully others!)

5) I have a voice, one that is responsible for helping people. I hope my art can heal in some way.

How is darkness a part of your life? Is it something you embrace, nestle comfortably inside or choose to ignore? However you choose to see your darkness, know that you're not alone in that, and your choices are yours to make.

I also want to thank all of you out there who have been so supportive in the last few months, weeks and days. You have really touched us with your compassion, icon tributes, posts to the Caring Bridge site etc. It means a lot to us,

I also want to stop and do something I do not do often enough,, I want to thank my wife Sherri. She has always stopped her life to help and support others, be it as the care giver for her father for his last years, her taking 2009 to travel back and forth to Houston from Tampa to help her mom and sister at MD Anderson Hospital as they fought and still fight Breast Cancer. For being a ROCK during these very tough times.

She has always done whats right for others, friends, family, strangers, people at the hospitals, the baseball parks and many other places,, and doing it at many times to the detriment of herself,,, Just because its the right thing to do..

Setting up the Caring Bridge Site, Camo for Craig and Craigs Army,, crocheting tons of camo beanies, cross sticking thousands of crosses, endless time spent trying to work things out and make things work out,, because its the right thing to do.

So Sherri,, I don't say it enough, and you deserve it much more for many other reasons too numerous to post here...

Someone asked if I'd lost weight. I think I have. Although I wish I'd lost more on my torso (midsection area) and not so much on my thighs. In retrospect, they're looking a little thin. My legs still look great thought, don't they?
