Ask restaurant was formerly a bank and the curved wall of the building is adorned with some of the 32 caryatids, or armless ladies, which continue along the adjoining terrace of shops. They date from about 1840 and are loosely based on similar columns at the Acropolis in Athens. We are so used to them but they are really quite a sight to behold and something that shouldn’t be missed if visiting Cheltenham.

'One side will make you grow taller, and the other side will make you grow shorter.'
'One side of WHAT? The other side of WHAT?' thought Alice to herself.
'Of the mushroom,' said the Caterpillar, just as if she had asked it aloud; and in another moment it was out of sight.

Dhi Ain is an archaeological village located in Tihama, western Saudi Arabia, about 20 km from Al-Makhwah Governorate and 24 km from Al-Baha. It was founded in the tenth century AH and is more than 400 years old.
The village was built on top of a white mountain and is famous for the cultivation of bananas, lemons, peppers, basil and caddy, and handicrafts.
The village includes many houses, consisting of two to four floors, a small mosque, and many forts used to defend the village and watch.
The village is also among the ten sites approved by the Saudi government in November 2014 to ask UNESCO to include it on the World Heritage List in the coming years.

Migrant Monday - Eared Quetzal (Immature male)
Someone asked me why is this species called the "Eared" Quetzal? According to BirdsoftheWorld (Cornell): "The feathers on the side of the occiput (its ear coverts) are elongated and very slender, forming a filamentous tuft that may be seen as wavy silver markings behind the eyes."
Big Thank YOU to Dan Weisz for the info!

Little Jeremy asked, "Mama! Mama! May I practice Trick or Treat?! I want to try on my ghost costume!"
"Yes, Jeremy! You certainly may! I'd like to get a photo of you all dressed up, too!"
"Will you give me candy if I yell Trick or Treat, Mama?"
"No, Sweetie- that is for the REAL Halloween! But you can practice the words, too, if you like!"

A friend asked me: "After all these Safaris you made, what are you looking for this time? What is it you like to snap this time?"
My answer was: "Honey Badger! We´v seen them often, but I never was able to get a clean shot of one of those guys. They always tend to disappear in the grass only allowing blurry butt shots."
As if someone had listened, luck was on our side and we had this lovely badger in hunting mode for several minutes. The critter never stood still but I was lucky enough to get some nice shots, at least.

Asking for a friend.
I have been trying to work out how to deal with this conflict I have with the lions and basically the zoo industry.
How can I use my photos for good? How can I use my relationship with these lions for good?
So I have started a project and hopefully I can change the perception of the breeding of lions in zoos and that it is NOT OK, even though zoos sell it as 'saving a species by having an insurance policy'.
I hope to change this narrative. It's wrong, it's outdated and it needs to be changed and so far I have noticed that people are open to this change.
Will keep you all updated with my progress.
