Tromsø, Norway

The city centre is located on the east side of the Tromsøya island — over 300 kilometres (190 mi) north of the Arctic Circle at 69°40′33″N 18°55′10″E.

There are many tall mountains within the municipality including Hamperokken, Jiehkkevárri, Store Blåmann, Store Fornestinden, and Tromsdalstinden. The Lyngen Alps mountain range lies along the Tromsø-Lyngen municipal border. There are also several fjords that are located in Tromsø including the Balsfjorden, Kaldfjorden, Malangen, and Ullsfjorden.

Project 52 - Week 21

Yesterday I spent the entire day shooting this branch of artichoke in 4x5 and 5x7 format, with various expired films. The conclusion is that most of the film is not doing too well, and in this case the moulding seems to get out of hand.

I will definitely make some dark room prints later this week, let's see what can be done with them!

Just going through some old pics :)

The dark pink coloured "skeleton" of a dead Hydrangea head from last year was found totally dried and entire under some decking. I photographed both it, using a double exposure, and a head of this Season's Hydrangea flower.

Further development of a theme started in April 2017

This little chick came out briefly on Inner Farne for some photo ops. Breeding season for the terns was practically over but there were a few left such as this little chick.

The dawn was of fragmented and swiftly changing light levels today and I always enjoy the opportunities that this phase of our beautiful satellite presents.

Taken during our last artic blast of air. Rising steam from the river and early morning light made for a nice silhouette.
