Dave, an Educator from Squam Lake Natural Science Center, gives a "Natural Encounters" talk at the Currier Museum Art Center the last week of summer camp, in August 2012, about threatened and endangered New Hampshire animals. The Art Center students, ranging in age from 5-12, created bat "lanterns" that they then sold at the conclusion of this week-long art camp to help raise money for Bat Conservation International. The event raised a little over $400 for this non-profit.
The Currier Museum Art Center, Manchester, NH, offers classes, workshops and camps for children, teens and adults and is associated with the Currier Museum of Art.

The painting is an examination of cultural integration. The pickle jar which represents a different cultural heritage. There is also a sour sense of uncertainty represented by the pickles themselves.

Native Brick
A 1.2 mile promenade is the center focal point of Walnut Street Park, in Cary, North Carolina. The design, realized in four colors of native brick, is of an imaginary plant/vine which weaves itself throughout the plaza. The promenade begins and culminates in a large plaza where the imaginary blossom explodes in color and shape.
2004 16’H x 16’W x200’L City of Santa Clara Central Library, Santa Clara, CA Fabricated metal / Light Five arches create a welcoming entrance to the City of Santa Clara Central Library. The Illuminated Page is inspired by the delicate motion created by turning a page, and references the transparent, glowing quality of illuminated manuscripts. The semi-transparent arcing forms are lit from within. At night the sculptures glow.

Moment: I call a group of my sound works Moment or Time Pieces. They are artworks which take the form of communal sound signals. The basic
idea of these works, though, is to form the sound signal with a silence rather than a sound.
The first full-scale realization, Time Piece Graz, was commissioned in 2003 by the Kunsthaus Graz. More recently were the commissions for the Dia Art Foundation Museum in Beacon, New York, and the town of Stommeln, Germany.

Understanding the abstract art is easy. It can be understood with an open mind and a big imagination. Abstract art is open to interpretation, and that is one of the beautiful things about it. It doesn’t jump out and declare “THIS is what I’m all about.” Instead, abstract art requires you to have an open, inquiring mind; you must enter the painting and see where it takes you. It gives you the freedom to explore the artwork and assigns your own meaning to the piece. This intensely personal process enriches a viewer’s experience of an artwork.
