Apache AH-64 Longbow helicopters and ground vehicles were transported onto the US Naval Ship Green Dale. Soldiers were given a two-week course in blade folding and proper preparation at USAG-Humphreys before traveling for this mission. The Commanding General’s 2018 Spring Company Commanders Staff Ride took place over 12-14th March and visited the Historical First World War battle sites around Liege, Belgium and Verdun, France.

 

The Mission of the staff ride was to provide selected Junior Officers a professional development opportunity that was highlighted by senior officer mentoring.

 

During the staff ride participants were able to walk the terrain of actual battle sites to discuss and examine tactical decision making and the evolution of those tactics as the war progressed. Participants also analyzed the American Expeditionary Forces involvement during the war and gained a greater appreciation of the human dimension of soldiering.

 

The sites visited included the forts of Barchon and Douamont as well as war memorials such as Voie Sacree, Montfaucon and Montsec as well as the American Cemeteries.

The USADSA hosted a graduation ceremony for the course graduates of Bravo Company Class 002-19, February 13, 2019. 92 Drill Sergeants now join in the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command mission to train BCT Soldiers.

2st platoon, Alpha Company, drill sergeant candidates conduct record weapons qualification Aug 23, at Range 19, Fort Jackson. "Wolfpack" Candidates fired at pop up targets in prone supported an unsupported and in the kneeling position. Todays range was led by Senior DSL Simmons.
