The Terracotta Army was discovered in the spring of 1974 to the east of Xi'an in Shaanxi province by a group of farmers when they were digging a water well east of the Qin emperor's tomb. For centuries, there had been occasional reports of pieces of terracotta figures and fragments of the Qin necropolis — roofing tiles, bricks, and chunks of masonry — having been dug up in the area This most recent discovery prompted Chinese archaeologists to investigate, and they unearthed the largest pottery figurine group ever found in China.

Tooele Army Depot, UT
Tooele Army Depot was established as an ammunition supply facility in 1942. It became one of the eight chemical weapons depots of the US. After joining to the Chemical Weapons Convention pact the reserves were incinerated. Some chemical weapons are still guarded there.

Mid Caption: Throughout the Oruzgan Province, there are numerous roads, buildings and key infrastructure projects that vie for the attention of Australian Forces. The members of the 1st Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force, engage in thorough investigations of any project before committing time and resources. Their goal is to identify and support the reconstruction works, which will best aid the local Afghan people.
One of the key activities in planning any reconstruction project is the reconnaissance of the location to confirm its suitability for any engineering to commence.

Commissioners for England for many years, the site having been appropriated by
the Army for use during the Second World War, and returned to the Church

Kevin Marshall from Raleigh, N.C., with 382 Combat Sustainment Support Detachment, Rough Riders, performs room clearing procedures in the Baath Party Palace, Baghdad, as he and his team participates in the United States Forces-Iraq "Spur Ride." Sixty-three Soldiers are mentally and physically pushed to their limits though a 16-hour event encompassing 12 rigorous stations that tested the Soldiers' abilities as they all attempt to join the Order of the Spur. Through teamwork forty-two of those Soldiers came together, passed the test and were accepted into the brotherhood of cavalrymen. On April 18, United States Forces-Iraq, Special Troops Battalion held a "Spur Ride" on Victory Base Compound to provide Soldiers an opportunity to participate in the Cavalry tradition and earn their golden spurs while deployed to Iraq.

Some of my sketches, from the sketchbook i used to carry around in my military service. Most of them were live-sketched (is that even a valid expression?). Mainly memories.
