Le palais de justice Gambetta, siège de la cour d'appel de Caen, a été inauguré en 1997. L'agence "Architecture Studio", qui a conçu le projet, a voulu des espaces ouverts, transparents, donnant les clés de l'organisation judiciaire. L'inclinaison de 5% des façades du bâtiment, opposée à l'horizontalité des lisses rappelle la silhouette d'un bateau. La structure en béton armé est habillé d'une vêture de tôles d'aluminium laqué. Des filtres visuels intégrés aux vitres au moyen d'une sérigraphie noire protègent les locaux à caractère confidentiel.Les lisses en fibre de verre et de carbone sont à leur surface métallisées en gris aluminium.

The courthouse Gambetta, seat of the Court of Appeal of Caen, was inaugurated in 1997. The agency "Architecture Studio", which designed the project, wanted to open spaces, transparent, giving the keys of the judiciary. The inclination of 5% of the facades of the building, opposite to the horizontal rails recalls the outline of a boat. The reinforced concrete structure is clad in a vesture of lacquered aluminum sheets. Smooth fiberglass and carbon on their surface are metallic gray aluminum.
