This is a photo of a sky scraper I took in Rotterdam during my holidays there. I liked the perspective looking straight up along those lines, as it emphasizes the high of the building.

I've been away from Flickr for awhile working on my new blog about photography and associated random thoughts. It's up now so if you have a chance take a look. Mike Schaffner Photography
Now as to this photo is an abstract study in contrasts in line, shape, form and tonality. Taken along the waterway in The Woodlands, Texas.

Just like after WWII, people are happy to embrace live music after easing post pandemic (hopefully) measures.

All we need is music, sweet music

The little girl with her guitar looked so adorable. I love the little face full of curiosity and also apprehension. We walked the same direction, so I took few photos of her, with her mum and dog.

I went for a walk along King, Wellington, Portland streets and took few photos of the older buildings still standing. Not many are left. This 5 story building is about the same height as a new 10 story building, so I predict it would soon be replaced. Canada population must be getting shorter. The nation which invented basketball is on the way to become like Appenzellers. (The Swiss make fun of the short people in this corner of Switzerland)
This is the rear of the 1913 Samuel & Benjamin Building. (Architect - Burke, Horwood & White). There may have been a restaurant in the basement and the exhaust is just a visual leftover. 'Samuel' is an established (1855) metal manufacturer (now in Oakville), one of few still operating in Canada.

Café Glockenspiel
Café Glockenspiel is one of Munichs go-to places for having breakfast. It is named after the Glockenspiel or playful music with dancing figures you can experience from the Rathaus right across its windows. Every day at 1100 and at noon two historical events (a knights tournament and the Schaeffler dance) are re-enacted by the famous figurines.
An elevator goes up to the 5th floor but you can also take the spiral stairs.. ;-))
Climbing the steep hill on which Gediminas Tower is located, you can to climb the cobbles or steps. There is a Funicular on the far side but we couldn't be bothered walk round to it!
Forty-six years is a good run for any business. Brothers Ron and Rob, the owners, were probably ready to retire anyway.

The House of the Parliament-Bremen
The House of the Parliament officially opened in September 1966. Bremen’s parliament building is called ‘Haus der Bürgerschaft’. The building has a frame construction of iron-reinforced concrete. The sheathing of glass has been hung in front of this construction. The height of the building is approximately that of the level of the eaves of both the Town Hall und the house 'Schütting'. The folded roof was a compromise solution conceived as a means for converging and linking the building with the older buildings surrounding the historic market square. The facade of the parliament building reflects the old buildings in the mirror-like surface of the glass sheathing. Artificial reliefs made of aluminum highlight the window sills.
