The former municipal power plant in Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) in Poland. The building was erected 1905 and operated until WW II. It is standing in the middle of the city and was transformed after the war into a candy factory. The building is a nice witness of early 20th century power production and it hopefully will be preserved.

Week 49/52, 2016
This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Minimalism.” I decided to visit the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to photograph the 2007 renovation. The oldest portion of the ROM was completed in 1912. The museum then had a major expansion in 1931. The newest and most radical renovation was designed by Daniel Libeskind and titled “The Crystal.” The result has been controversial and is generally loved or hated by most people. I think the interior spaces appear to be a second thought in the renovation, but it does have lots of interesting geometry to photograph.
I decided to use this shot for the theme because it’s the most minimal of my shots. This is looking up the staircase in the Crystal.
