Tynemouth Priory ruin. The medieval gothic architecture of the ancient weather beaten east end. The great height of the church has an unusual upper level above the main body of the church. The reason for this is unknown but as this site was attacked many times by the Vikings it is thought that it might have been some kind of safe house. The graves around the ruin are not from the same era.

Prague Castle at night standing proudly above the Charles Bridge and the Vltava River.
For many years I have wanted to travel to Prague, and last week I managed to get a few days in the beautiful City.
The Old Town in particular was always an attraction to me. Walking on the Charles Bridge held a huge appeal and wandering around the castle grounds too.
For me, this has to be quintessentially one of the best European capital city views … I’d love to see this in snow.
Maybe next time!!!
