Dome of the Kansas State Capitol. If you get a chance to take a quick peek inside this building.... I highly recommend it.
I designed and built this villa for a LUG contest themed "Lego Housing Fair". The design of the villa was inspired by the works of the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The name of the villa comes from the latin word for "arc"

Now that I know the overall size of this thing I started on rebuilding the wings. Previously all three levels were identical which I really didn't like but I kept them as a placeholders. To break up the monotony I added portics on the ground floor and with a balcony above it. As always I had a blast building this small roofs with the light bluish grey cornice around the front. West wing is rebuild in the same manner.
The next part I really wanted to change was the area located under each window on the first and second floor. I switch the previously used light bluish grey slopes to a small windowsill's in tan.
I also started adding more and more details, this time:
a) convex bars are added to all windows on the ground floor - based on driod's arms and crowbars
b) external lamps are attached to the pilasters - I have run of out black sausage pieces :(
c) hanging flower pots - I have spent a ridiculous amount of time building them, not because they were hard but because it was so enjoyable to use bizarre colors like green or red for a change :)
d) gutters are changed a little bit to add a small inspection ports
As a result of adding the porticos now I need to rebuild the base because the wings are simply too big... oh well, 6th time is a charm they say :)
Next I'm going to rebuild the circular front but for that I need my bricks and pieces package for which I'm waiting like forever :)
The Sultan Ahmet Mosque is a historic mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior.
I shot this one from a window in Aya Sofia.
Architecture popular ... Local architecture has a strong link with the population ... Where the function is a priority ...

my favorite season of the year, the smell of rotten leafs, the hard wind & rain, the days getting shorter and the nights getting colder, the complaining and the idea winter is on his way...
I just love it ;-)))))
