Here is a little something festive. We always go down to Simi Valley CA (about 40 minutes NE of LA), to visit my wife's sister for the holidays. As we were preparing to leave SF, i called out to my son Miles if he was ready to go and he walked out of his room with that outfit. He just had this original holiday hipster look and I just had to capture it. I broke out the softbox light and had him take a couple of different poses. I wasn't sure how I was going to treat the image, but I knew I wanted to do something like/in the spirit of Maria Matthews portraits which I admire so much.

Snapseed and I can't remember the other apps I used.
I took this back in April on a trip with my daughter. We'd driven to Moab, Utah for the day and made a quick stop at Thompson Springs which is pretty much a ghost town. Somewhere in my images, I'll try to find it and attach it here, is a photo of a falling apart motel. We stopped by the same motel and the vandalism has gotten out of control. It was pretty bad when I was there a few years ago, but it's just about not worth the time out of one's way to stop by. Even abandoned structures should be left as they are for others to photograph.
This chair was sitting outside one of the rooms. Since there are now painted handprints everywhere...I guess someone couldn't resist the chair!
I live in Indiana, so barns are everywhere. There's something mysterious about them to me. There's a story behind each one and a life that each barn has. It's my job to honor these ancient ones through photos. I edited this photo using Snapseed. It's one of my favorite barn shots I've taken. Find me on Instagram or Twitter under the username @kewiki.
