If you like my work and are interested in the back stories, techniques and apps used to create my art on a mobile device, you might like my new mobile artistry course "Adventures in Creative Mobile Artistry." The course includes lots of "live" video footage and onscreen tutorials as I demonstrate the whole creative process from where to find inspiration in our everyday surroundings to in-depth editing and slow shutter painterly techniques and processes including compositing, layering and masking.

Six months in the making ...

Roughly six months ago I was looking at my lightrac and TPE apps on my phone and decided to scroll through the year to see when the sun would be rising at the arch in Bow Fiddle Rock in Portknockie. I discovered that the first week in May was the ideal time. This was on my mind ever since....staying 30 minutes drive away from Bow Fiddle I knew it could be possible for me to achieve this shot...with a little help from mother nature. The start of May was freezing cold and even had sleet / snow but with more research into the weather and tide times I calculated that on the morning of the 3rd The sun should be rising at 05:15 with a partially cloudy sky and the tide would be making its way in. So this morning I left my house at 3:45 with an ideal shot in mind. I wanted to create a shot with a sun flare in the arch ....

Apps used. Sketch club. Artpad. Superimpose. Photoforge2.

A reworking of a photo I took of a Honey bee on a Lupin flower using my Canon G11 (see below in comments). I coped the original image to my iPhone5 & tweaked it using the Painteresque App. HTT!

Aviary App

I shot this photo near Times Square in NYC with my iPhone6. Then I post processed it with Snapseed and the new Depth Effects app.

Avocet taken at Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Cley Next The Sea. I gave in to getting a new app for my iPad and this is my first go at sliding with it.

Happy Sliders Sunday ~

I had fun experimenting with this image.

I used Filtermania2 to create this scene which I think is pretty boring in the original shot!

What a great iPad app this is.

Ritsurin Garden 栗林公

Takamatsu, Kagawa, Shikoku, Japan

日本四国香川県高松市

Google Maps: maps.app.goo.gl/qNgQEUokbMVbWYWw7

Ritsurin Koen (栗林公園) is a landscape garden in Takamatsu City, built by the local feudal lords during the early Edo Period. Considered one of the best gardens in Japan, it is often suggested that Ritsurin Koen deserves a spot on the list of the "three most beautiful gardens of Japan" alongside Kanazawa's Kenrokuen, Mito's Kairakuen, and Okayama's Korakuen.

The spacious park features many ponds, hills, trees and beautiful pavilions divided into a Japanese-style garden in the south and Western-style garden in the north. The gardens are set in front of wooded Mt. Shiun which serves as a wonderful background and great example of borrowed scenery in Japanese garden design.

Inside the park are a number of facilities, including a folk museum, shops and a few resthouses where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments amidst the beauty of the garden. Of particular note is the Kikugetsu-tei teahouse in the southwest part of the gardens where, for a small fee, you can enter and enjoy some tea on its verandas overlooking the ponds.

Culture Days 2019 Painted Piano Community Project | Coordinated by Arts Milton & Co-created by the community members (2019) – Piano

The Culture Days 2019 community project was a painted piano and matching piano bench designed and facilitated by artist Aparna Rangnekar and co-created by dozens of community members during Culture Days. The upright piano and bench were primed with white paint, and Rangnekar used black acrylic paint to outline blossoms with music note and music clef centres. Community members contributed by painting in the blossoms with a selection of brightly hued acrylic paints in primary and secondary colours. The piano is maintained by the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton, and is located on the second floor of the facility. It is available to be played by community members during open hours.

Looking Close On Friday-Spirals

I have always been fascinated by Fractals. The one I've always known about is the Mandelbrot Set : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set but after acquiring the FRAX app on my iPad I became aware of the Julia Set: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_set I don't understand the math all that well that is involved with these intricate sets but I sure do like making them! This is one I made yesterday. I took a photo of it with my camera so it's not really a screen shot.

All elements shot with an iPhone6 and ProCamera app.

Edited on iPad with Leonardo app, ProcCreate and BlurFX.
