Frank came out to say hello and ask me if I worked for the city so that I could dispose of these beauties. He claimed they 'cheapened up the neighborhood." I begged to differ.

I'm thinking with a grin on my face that some shadows can be larger than the original object that originated them (a metaphor perhaps of the possibility for us to achieve bigger greatness than we even know possible?), and that no matter how fast an object moves, there is always at least one eye (and one iPhone -in my case-) ready to freeze it for an eternal second of wonderful quietness...

Flickr member Francessa Francis recently provided a gift to Ms. Essay of a Face App rendering of a previously uploaded selfie of Ms. Essay originally captured outside the salon where Essay had an early September 2022 nail appointment.

This collage compares the Face App makeover (left) with the initially posted photo of Ms. Essay (right). The Face App magic created amazingly attractive changes to the hair, eyes, skin texture, teeth and smile.

On a scale of easy to difficult to achieve in reality what Face App accomplished in fantasy, Ms. Essay would minimally need to change hair (easy), apply more eyeliner (easy), have fillers injected into her facial skin (moderate), professionally whiten her teeth (moderate), straighten her teeth with braces (moderate to difficult) or remove her teeth and replace them with dental implants (difficult). Of course, the more moderate to difficult procedures are more expensive, too ! !

So, at this moment, Ms. Essay views this Face App rendering as a fantasy magical make-over.

Found a cool app called Percolator. Having fun with my new iPhone 5.

The bamboo orchid is a ground orchid. I have it in vases and in the garden.

If you’re new to shooting movies on film, setting your camera f-stop is key to making beautiful exposures! Since most Standard 8mm cameras are manual, I highly recommend using David Quiles’ LIGHT METER APP. It’s free but I also recommending purchasing the $6.00 complete version.
