The MFA in Applied Craft and Design welcomes Pearl Fryar as part of the 2012-2013 Graduate Visiting Artist Lecture Series.
Fryar is a sculptor who uses live plant material to create original, elegantly abstract forms of topiary. He is self-taught and as such has taken risks and developed techniques outside the normal bounds of horticulture. He is not afraid to try new things and has been said to “tame trees” by his unique techniques. Born in rural North Carolina, the son of a sharecropper, Fryar has overcome substantial obstacles through a position of selfless giving.

Lakeland College Applied Research has finished seeding their 2017 research plots. This year agricultural research has seen a huge boost. The teams is conducting projects on pasture weed control; cereal lodging reduction; and cereals, flax, and pulses including soybean and fababeans. The peas have only been seeded for two days and they are already germinating!
I got sick of the rainbow hair, and since I cut most of my hair off re-doing the rainbow wasn't realistic so I decided to just chuck some blue dye over the faded mess I had.
