A large apartment building designed by Gaudi on the elegant central boulevard of Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona. Gaudi brooked no interference when he was creating. Because of the wave-like contours, locals called it "La Pedrara" (the Quarry).
When Gaudi presented his bill, the owner refused to pay it so Gaudi took him to Court, and won. He then gave the whole amount to a Convent though he lived very frugally himself.
Sanlitun is home to many laobaixing and laobeijingren. This is a typical government-owned apartment building in the hutongs behind Jiuba Jie.
This is the apartment we settled on. We only had about 2 weeks to find a place. If we didn't find anything, my company was going to stick us back in a serviced apartment. This was definitely the nicest place we saw and since it was close to my work, funished, and a 2 bdrm, we took it.
The hallway that leads to our apartment. It is super breezy due to the whole one wall actually being just bars.
The living room of our apartment in Baltimore. Soon to be our ex-apartment, as our lease ends at the end of this month (July 2008).

Still hunting for apartment sized dining table...
I fell in love with this table today. But it's $565 which is too manies for me.
It swivels and then opens like a book for the top to go from 3x2 feet to 3x4 feet.
