After doing lots of work on preparations for our two recent gem shows and dealing with my not-so-good efforts to take photographs at those, I decided to fish-out a couple of the rough bouquet agates, from Tapado/San Carlos, cut them and polish one or two halves. This is the first of those and is actually one I took (whole) with me to Tucson the last time I went there, with the idea I would have something to trade, if the right opportunity presented to me. As you can see, someone missed out on a great agate and it will not be so easy to get from me now!

Bit of a different pic than my normal macros today. Did something to my back a week ago and it's been giving me issues since. Hurts to sit at the computer today to do one of my normal macro images. And the title for the image? Going to the doctor has always made me anxious. Blood pressure is always higher and my heart rate is always up. Dang white coat syndrome. Image is from today's visit. Hope the muscle relaxers help my back.

Stress rans like a plague in New York City. New Yorkers walk around like zombies on high octane caffeine. Everyone appears to be stressed. I wonder if they see it too every morning in the mirror. I see them everywhere but the place to observe is in the subway trains. Interesting stoic faces. Paradoxically, I found the New Yorkers quite helpful when you ask for help in getting directions. They want their own space but most are willing to help.

Meanwhile, it started to rain, and she didn’t bring an umbrella. She’s afraid her groceries will get wet. Moreover, she worried about her eye shadow make-up getting messed up.

On a little walk to check tawny owl boxes in May, a couple of worried willow warblers (Phylloscopus trochilus) came very close, jumping from tree tp tree along the path we walked on. I guess they had chicks they wanted to protect.

The willow warbler is one of the smallest bird species in Norway, and the most numerous during the summer season. It occurs from the coast to the mountains.

Tenison Road, Cambridge. The usual visitor route from the railway station is to head up Hills Road towards the city centre. Since I had the whole night to wander around I decided on a detour via Mill Road, a non-tourist, out of town area of Cambridge, but a most cosmopolitan and interesting 'normal' part of the city.

I had just begun the 24 hour photo walk and was already getting anxious about surviving the night. I'm not normally out late into the night and was seriously concerned about walking around at such uncivilised hours. I should have been in bed at home. On the other hand, I was excited to take part in such an experiment. I was determined to document my hometown. Someone had to 'represent' Cambridge:-)

One from the archive! This young hyena cub was very anxious and came out of the den under the road and gave us some nice moments!

RD28256. Having seen the new-build Brighton Atlantic under construction in it's shed at Sheffield Park on the Bluebell Railway over many years, I was anxious to see it in steam and working after its completion in August, 2024.

And here it is in all its glory, 32424 BEACHY HEAD, taking water at Sheffield Park Station before working another train to East Grinstead.

George Ranch Park’s Texian Market

At 11,000 feet, this place is DARK at night. I had two different trees "staked out" before the sun went down with my hand-held GPS for my starry night session, and frankly, I'm not sure I found either one of them in the dark. This was down the hill from the parking lot and I was somewhat anxious that I could find my way back to my car. But alas, the wonder and awe took over and I had my splendid night out, calm, quiet and alone.
