Our granddaughter dressed as Minnie Mouse waits anxiously for her grandparents to come to her birthday party.

"Why I came here, I know not; where I shall go it is useless to inquire - in the midst of myriads of the living and the dead worlds, stars, systems, infinity, why should I be anxious about an atom?"
Lord Byron
"Wat Pho (Thai: วัดโพธิ์ (...) is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand.(...) The temple is first on the list of six temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples. (...) The temple complex houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha. The temple is considered the earliest centre for public education in Thailand, and the marble illustrations and inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions has been recognised by UNESCO in its Memory of the World Programme. It houses a school of Thai medicine, and is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple." Wikipedia

"Glimmers are those moments in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, or gratitude. Once you train your brain to be on the lookout for glimmers, these tiny moments will appear more and more.” ~Unknown
The highlight of my day was seeing this evening's golden light. It was the glimmer I needed. I have had an overwhelming week - ok, who am I kidding...an overwhelming summer. It really it's much different than any other year. I keep stretching myself way too thin to point that today I am feeling too overwhelmed and anxious.
Please don't feel the need to comment as I have not been able to reciprocate. Posting this to keep up with my photo project, to which I still enjoy but also wish I had more time to enjoy it even more. Someday that will return. In the meantime, I will keep looking for those glimmers and hope you do too.
Have a goodnight! x

Just one of those shots , a random alley from a car park to a High Street used by many all day , but with a change to mono and a couple of tweaks and it takes on another feel - good job Halloween was yesterday !!
when i feel irritable, disconnected, or anxious, i step outside. i return to the earth; return to nature; return to myself. i gather perspective and inhabit the moment. and my mood shifts in the most beautiful way.

A Roseate Spoonbill with a very badly broken leg has joined our backyard flock. I feel really badly for this one, as the leg is twisted around and he can't balance well with it.
Another bird to keep an eye on in the backyard I'm afraid.

Thousands of people, mainly representatives of Berlin’s Russian population, met on 9 May 2020 at the Soviet Memorial in Treptower Park, marking 75 years since the Nazis' unconditional surrender. From the early hours of the morning until late in the evening, they commemorated the end of World War II and the countless victims of this devastating war.
There are hardly any veterans left who could tell about their wartime experiences. In the meantime, their grandchildren have taken over the conductorship in these celebrations, some of them with touching gratefulness and respect, some others in a rather playful tune. But there are also several illustrious and disconcerting individuals and groups who, under the guise of commemoration, are spreading nationalist, history-distorting and war-glorifying slogans. In the emotionally charged memory of a day when peace returned to Europe, they scatter the seeds of new conflicts and confrontations.
My photo story "Victory Day" documents an experience between emotion and scepticism, between grateful remembrance and exuberant party atmosphere.
Disturbed by her body, she dreams of tranquility, very shy, she doesn't like contact with people, crowds make her anxious... She hates selfish people who only see themselves and nothing else, those who maintain prejudices without really opening up. to the world about these differences, she always tries to be as discreet as possible because she doesn't like the way people look at her...
