The Javan lutung, Trachypithecus auratus, also known as the ebony lutung and Javan langur, is an Old World monkey from the Colobinae subfamily. It is most commonly glossy black with a brownish tinge to its legs, sides, and "sideburns". It is found on and endemic to the island of Java, as well as on several of the surrounding Indonesian islands. The Latin word auratus in its scientific name means "golden", and refers to a less common color variant. Note that the common name golden langur is used for a different species.

The Takin (Budorcas taxicolor) is a goat-antelope found in the Eastern Himalayas and western China, their range extends from India, into China, Myanmar and Bhutan.
Head-body length is 150-230 cm, shoulder hight is 75 - 135 cm. It weighs from 150 to 350 kg.
They are covered in a thick golden wool which turns black on the under-belly. Both sexes have small horns which run parallel to the skull and then turn upwards in a short point, these are around 25 - 45 cm long. The short, stocky legs have broad hoofs and strong dew claws as an adaptation to their mountainous environment.
There's no marked sexual dimorphism, but males are generally larger and heavier than females, with lighter coloured coats and longer horns.
Takin are found in bamboo forests at altitudes of 1,000 to 4,500 metres, where they eat grass, buds and leaves.

De takin (Budorcas taxicolor), ook wel rundergems of gnoegeit genoemd, is een holhoornig hoefdier uit de bergen van Centraal-Azië. De takin leeft voornamelijk in het hoog- en middelgebergte van west-China en de oostelijke Himalaya (van China, Bhutan en India tot in Myanmar), tussen de 1950 en de 4500 m hoogte. Ze leven voornamelijk in steile bamboebossen. In groepen wagen ze zich ook op de open alpenweiden. Takins voeden zich 's ochtends, 's avonds en op bewolkte dagen met gras, bladeren, knoppen en scheuten van bamboe en andere planten. Overdag rusten ze in de schaduw.
De takin is ondanks zijn grove bouw een goede klimmer, en beklimt moeiteloos steile rotshellingen.
De takin heeft een grote kop met een lange snuit en grote ogen. De oren zijn opvallend klein.
De vacht is lichtgekleurd, lang en wollig. De vachtkleur is gelig tot bruin, en donkerder aan de onderzijde. Bij mannetjes is het gezicht zwart, bij vrouwtjes en jongere dieren alleen de snuit.
Als aanpassing aan het leven op steile berghellingen zijn de poten vrij kort en stevig, en de hoeven breed en sterk. Beide geslachten dragen kleine, aan het eind achterwaarts gerichte hoorns. De hoorns zijn 25 tot 45 cm lang. Het mannetje wordt 170 tot 230 cm lang, 100 tot 130 centimeter hoog en tot 350 kg zwaar. Het vrouwtje wordt kleiner, slechts 150 à 250 kg zwaar. De staart is vrij kort, 15 à 20 cm lang.

The Chinese crocodile lizard (Shinisaurus crocodilurus) is a semiaquatic anguimorph lizard found only in cool forests in southeastern China and northeastern Vietnam. The Chinese crocodile lizard spends much of its time in shallow water or in overhanging branches and vegetation, where it hunts its prey of insects, snails, tadpoles, and worms. Individuals in captivity may be fed baby mice. A rare and little-studied lizard, it is listed in CITES Appendix II, which regulates international trade of specimens. This is the only species in the monotypic genus Shinisaurus. It is the only living member of Shinisauria, a clade of lizards whose fossil record extends back to the Early Cretaceous, over 120 million years ago.

Nestor and Tasa became the proud parents of 3 new lion cubs on august 29th 2022. One male and 2 females. Their names are Xesar, Xabi and Xira as this year all newborns get a name starting with X.
Their siblings born last year june 17th 2021, also 1 male and 2 females are named Whisker, Winta and Waka.

The lion (Panthera leo) is a species in the family Felidae and a member of the genus Panthera. It has a muscular, deep-chested body, short, rounded head, round ears, and a hairy tuft at the end of its tail. It is sexually dimorphic; adult male lions have a prominent mane.
