The original question, 'Can machines think?' I believe to be too meaningless to deserve discussion.

I'm raiding my archives again....this was taken in Oregon.
I was out in the back yard looking for something to shoot, when I saw this dried Japanese maple leaf, holding down a bird feather. There's something anthropomorphic about this to me :)
"Don't make me do this..."

Anthropomorphic interpretations are fun but what is really amazing is that these were born more than 100 million years ago. These say the oldest are around 1 billion years old!

I wish you all a wonderful Smiling Saturday.
Take good care and stay safe at home.
Another pair of Japanese cultural icons on the wall of the passageway.
In the right is Hatsune Miku (初音ミク). It was originally the name given to a vocal synthesiser application first released in 2007 by Crypton Future Media Inc.
Later, its anthropomorphic mascot character was promoted as a virtual singer and became an icon of the Japanese Otaku (おたく 御宅) culture that is associated with Manga, Anime, computer games, cosplay and pop idols.
In the centre is a partial copy of the famous woodblock printing in the 19th century by Toushuusai Sharaku (東洲斎写楽) of Segawa Kikunojou III (三代目瀬川菊之丞), a Kabuki “actor” playing the wife of a Samurai. Kabuki is a classical theatre play performed only by men.
Kabuki used to be a negative word for outlaws, rogues, punks etc.
A woman named Izumono Okuni (出雲阿国) invented a dance performance that incorporated their fashions and styles in the early 17th century. It was originally performed by women and became a popular entertainment for the commoners. I suppose it was like cabaret shows in the beginning.
Kabuki was drastically transformed by the government ban in 1629 on women’s performance in Kabuki as the Confucius government thought it was against the public morals. The Kabuki business tried to survive by replacing women with boys, which was also banned.
The present form is their desperate last resort, with which they barely survived.

Chorrera
(900 – 300 a.C.)
Chorrera is the most widespread culture in Ecuador. It represents the antecedent of later culture that flourished during the Period of Regional Development.
It was a markedly hierarchical society with specific specialization’s as evidenced by the extraordinary technical and artistical quality of Chorrera pottery. Fruits, animals and human beings were represented with numberless details, which makes this ceramic tradition unique in the native archaeology of Ecuador.
The most interesting piece is the whistle-bottle that reproduces the sounds of different animals when water is poured into it and the air contained in the bottle moves through a resonant box. Not less extraordinary is the decorative technique of iridescence whose quality has not been surpassed by any other native culture in Ecuador.
The legend of the Sicilian anthropomorphic vases refers to the time of the monarchy when the queen betrayed the king with a dark young man who had both heads cut and exposed it as a warning of future betrayals.
Hungry? Don't feel like cooking? Well, just hop in the car and head on over to Superdawg. It's a place where you can still pull into one of the carports and get your food delivered by a carhop, 1950s style; the grub comes on a tray that hooks on to your half-open car window.
The original Superdawg drive-in was founded in 1948 by Maurie and Flaurie Berman in Chicago's Norwood Park neighborhood, where it is still in owned and operated by their family, I believe. The one shown here is a second unit that opened in 2010 in Wheeling, a Chicago suburb. Not surprisingly, perhaps, the anthropomorphic hot dogs up top are named Maurie and Flaurie.
I'm not certain how the place is doing these days, but according to one story that I read, its business had hardly been affected by Covid-19 restrictions in March during the early days of the virus, while most other restaurants were suffering.
Loved these anthropomorphic figures from the Temple (c.1250-1180 BC), Museum at Mycenae, Mikines, Peloponnese, Greece so moved them outside to the royal cemetery and gave them a bit of nightlife.
If you've just arrived and can't wait for your first encounter with the moai (large anthropomorphic statues), head straight to Ahu Tautira.
This site overlooks Caleta Hanga Roa, the fishing port in Hanga Roa at the foot of Av Te Pito o Te Henua.
The small harbors of Hanga Piko and Hanga Roa Otai are located in Hanga Roa town and they are the most important of the island.
Here I found a single ahu (ceremonial platform) with two superb moai.
The other moai:

In front of the soccer field:
The Municipal Stadium is located on the coastal border of Hanga Roa, on Policarpo Toro Street opposite Ahu Tautira and Hanga Roa Otai, on the corner of Te Pito o Te Henua Street. This modern court is the main stage of the island for the practice of football, rugby as well as other sporting activities.
Pelé in Rapa Nui (a.k.a. Easter Island):
In January 2014, another important event for Rapa Nui took place. Legendary former Brazilian soccer player Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, visited Easter Island as a guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the new municipal stadium facilities.
Pelé, who was accompanied by former Chilean player Elías Figueroa, Sports Minister Gabriel Ruiz Tagle and Mayor Pedro Edmunds Paoa, starred in the serve of honor of the renovated venue, which invested more than 600 million pesos per share of the National Sports Institute (IND) and the Glosa Insular of the Regional Government of Valparaiso.

Street portrait from Glasgow, Scotland.
Previously unpublished spontaneous street portrait captured during one of my street photography workshops in the city. I don't recall seeing any other kind of cosplay going on so assume it was a FurCon.
They all looked to be having an awesome time with their anthropomorphic roleplay and brought their characters to life.
Enjoy!

The Basilica of the National Vow presents two types of anthropomorphic figures: gargoyles and acroteros. On the one hand, gargoyles are one of the main hallmarks of the Basilica, but which in turn maintain a direct relationship with the time they were conceived. They are located on the upper sides of the central nave and constitute the unprecedented contribution to the neo-Gothic style by Ecuador. This is because the animals that decorate the temple are not only mythological (like those of European temples), but are a sample of Ecuadorian endemic and exotic fauna. Thus, you can find alligators, Galapagos turtles, blue-footed boobies, armadillos, howler monkeys, pumas, among others.
Acroteros, on the other hand, differ from the previous ones because in addition to being decorative gargoyles have the function of serving as a boot-waters, while acroteros serve exclusively to decorate. It is also important to state that both anthropomorphic figures have an implicit assessment of helping to frighten evil spirits, a belief that originates in the Middle Ages and can be seen in every Gothic construction.
Jama-Coaque
(350 a.C. – 1532 d.C.)
This culture extended over northern Manabí and inhabited an environment characterized by wooded hills close to the beach. The power was held by a wealthy and powerful minority. Like neighbouring ethnic groups, the people of Jama-Coaque culture practiced a terrestrial and maritime long-distance trade.
The culture and religious core was the ceremonial center of San Isidro, where several temples were constructed on a huge pyramid surrounded by a large city.
The skill of Jama-Coaque potters is evidenced primarily by the manufacture of fine human figures represented as doing certain tasks and offices Of equal peculiarity and beauty are the ceremonial figure. The attire shows the existence of a flourishing textil industry.
The religions of the Formative Era (2000 to 500BC) created gods in human form but with the supernatural powers of the feline. The faces of these characters combine human features with those of the feline like fangs, whiskers and almond-shaped eyes.
The works remind me Fernando Botero Angulo's sculptures.

What is the oldest statue still standing?
Prehistoric. The Venus of Berekhat Ram, an anthropomorphic pebble found in northern Israel and dated to at least 230,000 years before present, is claimed to be the oldest known statuette.
Anthropomorphic owl dressed as a warrior; it is standing under a bow formed by the snake with two feline heads. It is considered one of the main gods of the Mochica culture. It is associated with the night, the occult and death.

Another look at the damselfly in the field a couple of mornings ago. Anthropomorphically speaking, she looks kind of curious, or alert, or content...

The cross, a ubiquitous symbol in Amerindian art, arises from the conjunction of the four cardinal points. This great La Tolita lord bears on his head a representation of the sacred spiritual centre, a circle with the centre point indicated.

The La Tolita developed in the coastal region of Southern Colombia and Northern Ecuador between 600 BC and AD 200.
Numerous archaeological sites have been discovered that show the highly artistic nature of this culture. Artifacts are characterized by gold jewelry, beautiful anthropomorphic masks and figurines that reflect a hierarchical society with complex ceremonies.
