I used to walk by this street very often, but since the new MRT line started last winter, I changed my daily route to another alley: www.flickr.com/photos/shangpc/albums/72157651625181588
That day I was in a hurry to go to a family lunch gathering, saw this scene on the way without my camera in hand. After the lunch, I went straight home, grabbed my camera, and returned to this location. Fortunately, nothing was changed.
The owner of the prosthetic leg was about ten meters away on a wheel chair, selling chewing gums. He asked if I were a reporter. He said he does not need report, nor help from the government or anyone. He just lost his leg a few months ago, things had been tough, but he thought as long as he can sell 40 gums a day, he can support himself no problem.
I thanked him for allow me to take pictures, wished him good luck and left, but didn't ask why he had to put the leg so far away from himself.
A few days later, I bumped into him again, this time I asked him why, and his answer was quite amusing. He said he is sick and tired of looking at the leg, that's why. But once he putted it further away, about triple the distance as it is now, a janitor came by and thought someone dumped it, then tried to carry it away, so he had to chase the janitor (on his wheel chair). Therefore it appears the way it is now: far enough, but not too far.

那天我正要去參加一個午餐聚會，半路上在我家附近看到這個景象，很想拍下來，但相機不在手上。吃完飯我直接回家，抓了相機再回到這裡，幸好一切都沒變。
義肢的主人，坐在離這裡大約十米的一個輪椅上，正在賣口香糖。他看到我手拿相機，問我是不是記者，他說他不需要報導，也不需要政府補助。幾個月前他才因為工作，失去了左腿，但最困難的時間已經過去。他算過了，只要一天能賣四十條口香糖，就可以自力更生，不需要別人幫助。
我表明自己不是記者，於是他同意讓我拍。拍完之後，我向他道謝，也祝他順利安康，但離開之後才想起，忘了問他為何要把那條義肢放那麼遠？
過兩天再看到他，義肢仍是同樣擺法，我又上前跟他聊了一下，這次沒忘了問他為什麼。他的回答很妙：他說因為剛截肢，不知為何，很討厭看到那條假腿，所以眼不見為淨。一開始他來這裡時，義肢擺得更遠，在這堵圍牆的另一端，離他大約有三十公尺。但有次來了一個清潔隊員，以為是誰不要的，要把它拿去丟，他只好飆著輪椅去追回來，所以現在才擺成眼前這個樣子：有點遠，但又不會太遠。

The answer was actually very simple. What the world needed was love, peace, and, of course, hope. If these three could be brought together, the future for the world and its inhabitants could be transformed in a completely different way, and life could become more beautiful and sustainable.
Humanity had to completely eliminate all its negative, death-inducing practices; brilliant minds should not invent better weapons and manufacture them in factories. Peace would come naturally when people loved each other and became good companions to all living things and nature. Technology should always be there, but it should be used not for killing and destruction, but for the purpose of creating a future with hope.
Having found all the answers she had been seeking, Lady Owlmopish bid farewell to her new friends. Now, she would return and try to share all she had learned with humanity.
The reason for our recent trip to Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee…the Western Cottonmouth. Reelfoot is pretty famous in our part of the world for three main reasons: Amazing fishing (winter and spring only…it sucks in August), and the largest concentration of Bald eagles and cottonmouths in the Eastern USA.
I have been wanting to go back to Reelfoot to photograph the cottonmouths for many years now. This week my brother Gus and I made the 9-hour roundtrip drive and were blessed with two separate encounters. In this shot, we fired up the trolling motor and cruised alongside this beautiful adult viper.

The answer is a lot harder than some people make it look. I see so many wonderful images of waves and we had the perfect opportunity on Holywell Beach, we spent a couple of hours wondering at, and trying to photograph the amazing breakers, this is my first attempt. Had so much fun on the beach but it is proving very hard to get images that I like

OK.. this is in answer to my good friend Bella's challenge! No retouching.. no photoshop. All I did was to crop to a Flickr size! This was taken at 6:00 a.m. right after shower and getting ready for work..No flash.. just a light over my right shoulder. My arm out the window in the kitchen. I was browsing my contacts pics and came upon her challenge.. so Bella.. this is your fault..LMAO!

WHK is an AM talk radio station serving the Cleveland area. It's apparently the sixth oldest (by FCC registration) radio station in the country.
In a burst of sunlight that lasted less than a minute, G539, BL33 and G520 lead 7901V out of Irymple at 1705 on Tuesday the 29th of August 2023. Barely 20 seconds before this train came into view, the sun came out and less than 10 seconds after the locos passed me, the sun disappeared behind the clouds, never to be seen again on this day. Of note, this train ran at a larger than normal length of around 1500m.

Answer: roof of hockey rink has tiny "snow shovels" to keep ice from falling en masse. Notice the beating many of the lower ones have taken over the years. Many are misshapened, a few are nearly obliterated by the weight of gravity of holding back ice and snow buildup on the massive roof. HL
I have been thinking about my brother so much lately. We lost him a year and a half ago to an accidental overdose He went to bed and never woke up. My poor dad found him, but it was already too late. He was only 24 and a wonderful person. This song just fits how much I feel. I miss him so much!
