Whoa. My first (and only) Animated Transformer Custom. Thanks to Shinobitron for the idea on this guy. This custom was a commissioned custom for someone, who changed his mind....Therefor, he's going to ebay (tonight)
Kup started as an Animated Optimus Prime. I removed the exhaust stacks on his forearms, made the truck roof attach on to his back in robot form, added rotation articulation to his hands. The head started as an Animated Jetfire head, completely resculpted the chin, mouth, and more. Also filled in many hollow areas and screw holes with Ave's Fixit.

This photo meets the project goals by taking two photos and merging them into a more interesting double exposure. I used a scan of a crumpled paper towel, and a back-lit photo of my brother, and in Photoshop, used one of the more unique blending modes "divide". In Photoshop I also spent a lot of time on the lighting and colors of the image. One of my goals for this particular image was to have the face appear animated, or deconstructed digitally. I wish the face could have had more depth, which was difficult due to the original heavily back lit photo. I like that this image is extremely unique, eye catching, and a different way to use less known layer blending modes to create an interesting effect. I also like the sharp defining lines on the chin and in the hair.

So yeah, I couldn't wait another six months to get my hands on these toys...especially once I saw a few of them on ebay with next to no mark-up.
Bumblebee here was the first to arrive. and he's glorious.
Super poseable, highly photogenic and just packed full of awesome. I love this toy to bits (despite the fact that he's probably my least favourite character on the cartoon!).
I really can not wait to get my hands on some more figures from this range.
Some of the characters made for 8Bits a short animated serie with funny momments and lot of 80's video games sound effects.

These pair of Wasps from Transformers Animated were my latest set of customs I've created. Both are pictured in robot mode.
Each of them has an individually sculpted head that unique from the other. They also have their hands carved a bit to have claws.
As you can see, the one of the right has a bit longer jaw and bigger eyes, while the one on the left has a better brow.
The one of the left is the one I gave to a friend, the other is the version I kept for my own collection.
Details about the project can be found on my blog: www.floatingcat.com/2014/06/09/transformers-animated-wasp/
