More from the dusty, DIY film scanner. I was trying out that whole 'take a shot, rotate camera 180 degrees, take the same shot" thing and apparently suck at aligning the horizon to the corners of the frame. And I think that's my finger on the right. Or it's something ... I don't know.

One of the neat things about coronas and iridescence is that they inform us about the conditions in the cloud. The arrangement of the colors, and the angular size of the color rings, tell us about the size of the droplets in the cloud. The brightness of the colors tell us about the droplet density in the cloud, and the degree of color purity tells us how similar the droplets are to each other in size.
This nearly perfectly circular corona is very consistent with the appearance of a corona with 1.5 micron sized droplets in the cloud. A micron is one thousandth of a millimeter, or one millionth of a meter. For us English system users, that's about .00004 inch!
