More from the dusty, DIY film scanner. I was trying out that whole 'take a shot, rotate camera 180 degrees, take the same shot" thing and apparently suck at aligning the horizon to the corners of the frame. And I think that's my finger on the right. Or it's something ... I don't know.

Originated after 1371; its builder was probably Benes of Wartenberg. The Castle is dominated by the angular White Tower, five storeys high, the south-eastern part pointing towards the Plakánek valley. The tower is a part of the battlements erected from stone blocks.
Один из наиболее хорошо сохранившихся готических градов в Чехии (вторая половина 14-го века) расположился на песчаниковой скале на стыке трех лесных долин. Особенностью этого архитектурного сооружения является то, что с определенного места под градом можно увидеть все четыре угла башни одновременно, так как она имеет в плане форму трапеции. Положение града также представляет интерес. В отличие от большинства градов, возвышающихся над местностью с холма, на котором, как правило, строились подобные сооружения, град Кост скрывается в пересеченном рельефе Чешского рая и увидеть его не так-то просто. Он стоит между двумя прудами, Белым и Черным. В случае опасности имелась возможность затопить долину вокруг града, превратив ее в неприступную трясину.
Люди, которым довелось пожить в чешских замках и крепостях, будь то кастеляны или экскурсоводы, нередко начинают свое повествование словами: «Я не верю в привидения, но был тут такой случай...». Пан Кноп, смотритель готической крепости Кост, что на севере страны, не припоминает, чтобы в легендах о граде встречалось упоминание о каких-либо призраках. Тем не менее, кое-что странное в Кости происходит. Порой двери самопроизвольно распахиваются, и со стены падает одна и та же картина, а порой здесь раздаются совершенно непонятные звуки.
