Anglers on the Fishing Jetty at Ladybower Reservoir with the boats and Jennet House reflected in the late evening waters.
The lagoons in Del Mar have various paths used for running or end at various places with nowhere else to go. This random swinging fence is what can be found here, as well as other sundry unexpected things. I had the wrong film for the day - high speed HP5+ for a sunny day outside - but was playing with my FED 1 (over 70 year old gear with a loading system created to instill patience and thoughtfulness for the respective user) and couldn't change it easily. Grain is there but I think tonality was very reasonable.

"Ci si innamora così, cercando nella persona amata il punto a nessuno rilevato, che è dato in dono solo a chi scruta, ascolta con amore. Ci si innamora da vicino, ma non troppo, ci si innamora da un angolo acuto un poco in disparte in una stanza, presso una tavolata, seduto su un gradino mentre gli altri ballano."

There's a minor pond in a little town in Frederick County, Maryland that gave me a huge but simple scene to photograph
while back in the eastern US for the holidays.
Angles Pond was the name I gave this little water feature on the edge of a charming town called Burkittsville, in Maryland. There are a lot of angles in this particular capture, and I chose to name the pond after the photo's character, primarily so I'll remember it
far into the future.
I have a great many photographs of ponds, each one with a different name and, as such, a different and unique identification.
Angles Pond is now added to that list. So far this mnemonic device is working pretty well.
Given the choice, I know which front door I would have.
The house on the left is owned by 'Loc8me' - a Loughborough based student letting agency. They have a certain design flair and creativity with the way they do things.

This is my 19th photo to make Explore!
When I arrived here before sunrise, I saw lots of tiny lights on the water.
They were standing in the water through the night, just for a glorious moment.
In the autumn, huge schools of Ayu(鮎) rush to streams of western shore in lake Biwa,
so their predators gathered here, and anglers gathered here too hunt for a big one...yes, never stop dreaming.

This viewpoint has been taken many times by different photographers and as I was in the vicinity I thought I'd better get it ticked off my bucket list.

#5 - Angles
Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
Here I pulled back on the focal length and angled my Nikon SLR camera downward to include more of this rugged landscape in this part of Capitol Reef National Park. With the image, I decided to try out this "Ansel Adams Look" I'd read about in Jason Odell's book on Capture NX2. The idea is to work with the LCH editor, making some adjustments, and then use a Black point and White point before converting to black & white.
Here is an example for the first weeks lesson assignment. This is a wide angle landscape image from Great Falls National Park in Virginia.
I shot this with a D300 (aps crop sensor) and used a 12-24mm wide angle lens. Notice the sweeping perspective created by using this lens at its widest setting.
In order for these wide angle landscape to work well, you need to get in close to your foreground. For this image I choose the rock as a great foreground and positioned the lens within 2 feet of it. This creates what is known as a near/far composition. This image works well also because of the dramatic clouds at sunset. If the sky would have been clear, this image would not be nearly as strong and I would have need to consider shooting a completely different composition with much less sky in the shot.

Just coming back from hiking to get that view (www.flickr.com/photos/133095026@N06/30660526658/in/album-...), we're pretty beaten up.
All we want is to pitch our tents and enjoy a quick dinner while the clouds are still just threatening. It won't last.
In the middle of the night, the wind started to show its power.
As we were all sleeping in tents designed to face all sorts of weather, one after the other, we all woke up. The tent I was personnaly sleeping in was moving so much and making so much noise that I sure thought that it was going to break or fly away as soon as we would have left it to find a better cover.
It didn't. But it didn't stop us from finish our night in the car either. 6 people sleeping in a 7 persons car, keep your elbows to yourself.
And at least, we were safe.
