Anglers Rest, Victoria - near Omeo Highway bridge crossing of the Cobungra River

I spent an embarrassing amount of time taking photos of this small square and its steps, the geometry and shapes were too hard to resist.

This man was on holiday in Southwold for a week with his wife, her sister and his brother-in-law. They were exploring the local area but he was happy to sit on the pier and fish. He had already spent 4 days on this spot when we met and intended to spend the rest of the week there. So far, he had caught one fish.

He was born in the USA and was a Vietnam War veteran who settled in Oxford UK in the 70s after he left the army. Having lived in the UK for nearly 50 years he spoke with an English accent but with a hint of American.

The Universitätsbibliothek Freiburg is a very neat architectural achievement, about to complete construction work this autumn but already in beta right now. Seriously, it looks like they're letting people use the library while they work out the last bits of what goes where. I really like that, it's exactly how we work in software engineering if the client allows it - agile and iterative development.

The angles, shapes and forms of the building invite the camera to play with abstract frames, I think. I had quite some fun with them.

Thank you for all of the great comments this week. It really makes me happy that people are enjoying these shots. Your words are all so wonderful

I took these to see how she looked in different angles, IMO she's very photogenic. I do think I need to work on her eyewells though. Hmm. Anyway, I gave her a silly watercolour faceup just so she wasn't blank, because she's so pretty.

fallen angels splitting the money.....

Static friction is overcome and a new layer is flattened on the cone. The process is similar to what happens when slowly raising one end of a board on which rest a scatter of coins. The money stays in place until static friction is overcome and the board clears at a critical angle: like a delayed money-slide when playing poker and drinking heavily.

Female American Kestrel nicely perched on a rusty angle-iron post, well more nicely perched than I was trying to shoot it from the car window without depressing the car horn with my elbow ;0)

Lola from a different angle. I like this one because you can see the flowers in the background.

Phlogophora meticulosa. A nice pair of Angle Shades, showing the varying colour forms HMM!

Angle Oak is a live oak tree located near Charleston, SC. It has gnarly branches spanning many meters in all directions. See angeloaktree.com. The tree has many visitors every day so its difficult to capture a scene without people.
