shot at the Fillmore Street Jazz Festival. i think this is a tad too subtle, what do you think? any comments?

ran a roll of fuji Velvia 50 thru my holga and did a pretty extreme cross process on it...

yeah, i don't often do this, but here i changed my white balance to blow out (i eye-droppered the white curtain in the window top-left). it made everything kinda pop.

Stacks of cardboard. Recycling Center, Los Angeles, California, USA

this building wasn't there last time i was around lake merritt, but i dunno how many years ago that was. maybe last time i led a photowalk here, about 3 years ago?

i think it is a Church of Christ. but i'm really not sure. anybody care to help inform me better?

i wasn't in love w/ this shot, so decided to convert in to b&w. added a touch of sepia toning and deepened the contrast.

Nance Klehm. Foraging for wild edibles in Los Angeles neighborhood Echo Park. Nance Klehm leads her Urbanforage guided walk showing and educating attendees about various greens, herbs and other edibles readily found along streets, lots and front yards. Los Angeles, California, USA

i ran this APX w/ D76 developer, maybe it needs something more contrasty... heck, maybe a higher water temp and tmax developer, or a coffee developer would be really nice... i dunno.

skater in the presidio. ran a roll of cheap walgreens 200 film and actually... really liked the results on the holga!

sculpture between a couple buildings, near SF MOMA. even though i took this shot several months ago, i think my eyes are still trying to recover from staring at the sun. LOL.

Ducks flying along the Los Angeles River at the Glendale Narrows. Los Angeles, California, USA

taken a couple years ago on a photo excursion up to the delta area. nikon f100 w/ ilford delta 100 film.

Surge from Japan Tsunami after earthquake rocks marina in Long Beach Harbor, Long Beach, California

some older shots of mine, i've not posted.

at the exploratorium, shot thru an enlargement lens and circular polarizer... i had no idea! basically my only processing was to correct the white balance.

just a pigeon. but, hey shot w/ my lovely female friend (Holga) and trusty sidekick (Ilford XP2).

Sparrow on the feeder in my back garden.

i guess this storefront sign was also a victim of our trying economic times... wonder where it went off to... maybe down south to warmer climes? maybe miami to be more deco. i dunno.

Water leaching from paved embankments of Los Angeles River flows down to the river's edge. Los Angeles River, Glendale Narrows, Los Angeles, California, USA

interesting how these signs make a complete sentence. huh.

i can't remember where i had this roll of film processed... but those green bands are from processing...

i guess i could embrace them as being a part of the whole holga happy accidents thing. i dunno. i find them distracting to my eyes though.

testing lens flare... a little ghosting on the sign.

Sparrow on the feeder in my back garden.

love rusted locks w/ crackling paint.

this was crazy, and i just now got up the nerve to try to scan these negs. accidentaly i grabbed the rollei tpan ISO 36 film instead of the rolei R3 400 film. yeah, ooopps.

so, i shot ISO 36 film at ISO 400. tried developing in HC-110 for about 16 minutes. not much tonality. but hey, i got images after pushing this film 4 stops!

used the extended (digital) zoom for this one. worked fine, maybe even better than fine. i was pleasantly surprised.

Beautiful Sunrise over Yosemite Half Dome ❤

Half Dome is a quartz monzonite batholith at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, California. It is a well-known rock formation in the park, named for its distinct shape. One side is a sheer face while the other three sides are smooth and round, making it appear like a dome cut in half.

exterior of local san francisco library branch. holga + XP2.

i see this view nearly everyday when i walk outside. the lighting is always fascinating to me, because it can vary so much.

taken inside the Exploratorium.

long exposure of alcatraz, taken a long while ago on a photo meetup event.

there was a nasty warning sign on this massive set of blast doors (this site was used for weapons testing & development). something about radioactive chemicals: your eyes melting and your skin peeling off and your blood would glow in the dark...

so, you just gotta know i went in.

detail isn't too bad here, but i'm not convinced that i'll be dealing w/ this rollei R3 400 film after the couple more rolls i still have to shoot.
