went out sat afternoon w/ some peeps for a graffiti photowalk meetup. i was shooting mostly on film and dint bring my D300 (kinda been neglecting her a lot lately?). : ( but my newly modded-out LZ10 came along!
anyways, i expect some crazy images once i get my sensia film roll back- since i ran a double exposure thru my holga first, and then industrial stuff today. same technique as this result of mine.

i plan on doing a lot more experimental photography next year, and have started a new flickr group. if any are interested, i plan to share a lot of my experiments and details and explorations there. hopefully, some of you might join the group and we can work on our journey together!

fuji NPH400 film converted into b&w in photoshop. double exposure here w/ holga. if you're wondering, that's the 'pyramid' building (transamerica bldg) in downtown SF.

design details from Julia Morgan's "hansel & gretel style" firehouse in Montclair, built in 1927. this firehouse is no longer being used.
Not only was Julia Morgan incredibly reknowned for her sense of aesthetics and design, but she was quite versatile. this is certainly a departure from many of her other buildings, but quite fitting for this hillside setting near Montclair Village.

i went out on a last minute photo exploration today with a couple other photogs, Rafa and Polykinase. we headed over towards the Alameda Naval Base, and found a veritable playground of photo opportunities...
but wouldntchaknow, security rolled up just as we were finishing our very first set of exposures. darn.
these abandoned ruins or whatever offer a unique counterpoint to the rock textures and the darkening sky IMHO.

mission street performers. let's see, i don't think it was cinco de mayo... i dunno what the occasion was.
took this today using the sepia tone in-camera w/ my LZ10. sure, i know... these recent images ain't winning me any awards or nuthin'... but still. happy to have a compact to capture lil' daily things like this.
i've found this Agfa APX film to be fairly flat in contrast and tones, takes a bit of work to build the shadow detail back into the images. i likely won't shoot w/ it again.
