Un esemplare molto "collaborativo" che è venuto a farmi visita nel mio giardino.

This is an apple peel for Macro Monday's topic of the day : "It's A-Peeling To Me"

I tried to peel an apple very close to the skin without breaking the peeling, It was a competition my father and I used to have whenever we ate apples. :-)

Happy birthday to someone. Again, 2013.

Plumbago are everywhere and the flowers are such a pretty shade of mauve, but what grabbed my attention was the forest of little green 'hairs' with their sticky droplets along the bottom of the stems of each flower. They are so willowy and delicate. Nature is amazing.

It is a Zygopetalum Orchid. Thanks to nolehace for the identification.

It was raining again today so I thought I'd try something that I have been wanting to do for some time. I have been looking with some delight at some of the amazing macro photographers on Flickr and their fantastic water droplet reflection photos and have become inspired. This is my first attempt so all you experts out there, feel free to say what you think ... it is a learning process after all :)

WONDERFUL FACTS - Owls Don't Have Eyeballs - What they have instead are better described as eye tubes. Since they can't move these tubes back and forth, owls have developed incredible neck flexibility to be able to see the world around them. They can turn their heads a whopping 270 degrees, whereas humans can only manage about 180.

As a result, owls have a special blood vessel system in their heads to keep fresh blood circulating to the brain when a quick head turn cuts off circulation. 💞
