Here are some more photos from the Nebraska National Guard’s Maj. Carlos Van Nurden on the massive and far-flung damage that resulted when Hurricanes Irma and Maria struck the U.S. Virgin Islands with devastating winds a few weeks ago.

Van Nurden is one of 56 Soldiers and 2 Airmen from the Nebraska National Guard’s 67th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade who are currently deployed to St. Croix where they are responsible for the command and control of Guardsmen from 31 different states currently supporting the hurricane relief and recovery operations on St. Croix and St. Thomas

Delaware National Guard Citizen Soldiers conducted "9-Line" Medevac training with DNG's Army Aviation Blackhawk aircrew, March 13, 2024 at Bethany Beach Training Site, Del. Combat Lifesavers Class is a 40 hour course that culminates in a 50-question written exam and a hands-on simulated practical exam. The course covers appropriate action under fire, emergency tourniquet use, blood control due to gunshots, explosions or other trauma, securing an airway, wound care, splinting and emergency evacuation procedures. #AlwaysReady #AlwaysThere

North Dakota National Guardsmen use hand tools to build a fire line during training April 22, 2012, near Raymond J. Bohn Armory in Bismarck, N.D. The exercise was part of training provided by the North Dakota Forest Service to certifiy and re-certify 38 North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers in Wildland Fire Behavior and Firefighter Training.
