Members of the Nebraska National Guard’s Lincoln-based 67th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade have begun their mission in the U.S. Virgin Islands in support of the ongoing Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria Hurricane relief and recovery operations on St. Croix and St. Thomas.

Both islands received devastating damage during the two hurricane that struck there several weeks ago.

The 58-members of the Nebraska National Guard arrived in the U.S. Virgin Islands on Sunday and Monday of this week and are now serving as the command and control headquarters for National Guard Soldiers and Airman operating on the two islands.

If you’re a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard’s 67th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, which is currently supporting the ongoing Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria relief and recovery efforts in the U.S. Virgin Islands, you helped created an assembly line for members of the Virgin Islands National Guard to assist with their computer imaging needs.

Members of the Nebraska Army National Guard’s 67th Manuever Enhancement Brigade continue to lend a hand to the hurricane-ravaged U.S. Virgin Islands as a part of the Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria relief and recover efforts.

Last week that support took them to the St. Croix Ricardo Richards Elementary School where members of Joint Task Force Pike helped clean up the school in preparation for the grand opening as part of the hurricane cleanup efforts.

Delaware National Guard Citizen Soldiers conducted "9-Line" Medevac training with DNG's Army Aviation Blackhawk aircrew, March 13, 2024 at Bethany Beach Training Site, Del. Combat Lifesavers Class is a 40 hour course that culminates in a 50-question written exam and a hands-on simulated practical exam. The course covers appropriate action under fire, emergency tourniquet use, blood control due to gunshots, explosions or other trauma, securing an airway, wound care, splinting and emergency evacuation procedures. #AlwaysReady #AlwaysThere

Van Nurden is one of 56 Soldiers and 2 Airmen from the Nebraska National Guard’s 67th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade who are currently deployed to St. Croix where they are responsible for the command and control of Guardsmen from 31 different states currently supporting the hurricane relief and recovery operations on St. Croix and St. Thomas
