Sommauth is a small place in the region Champagne in France. Some of my ancestors came from here as refugees to Amsterdam. They were Hugenotes. We tried to find people there but only on the cemetary we found the family Haudecourt, not the others, Hervieux.

Werken is Leven: "To work is to Live"
Veenhuizen, in the late 1800 and early 1900 a colony in the province of Drenthe, where very poor people and tramps were send to in order to be away from the cities and to learn to work. They had to work hard in the landreclaiming. In these houses the attendants lived.

Not as cool as they have usually been turning out, but hey! This one was taken in a tree, don't know what kind of tree though. Exposed from 01/10/10 to 08/10/10.
The "Green heart" is the unbuild peace of land between the big cities Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht. Gouda is just in the middle of it.

From a series of older images I retreated using the Van Dyke and Cyanotype processes (hand painted photo emulsions).

Mari was our first paid black glass ambrotype client at @photo_retro_nh. Her mom Malissa bought her a session for her birthday and we spent a great evening making plates.
I love everything about shooting these.
I'm still learning how to balance the color of the scans of the plates against the originals, so please be forgiving with these examples.
